Are they at all accurate long term compared to the pre-off market? Someone give me a ballpark figure?

Don't have any stats for it myself but recall someone who did saying they were amazingly accurate.

Only thing i did to test it was putting up keep bet lays @1.40 or so on every runner.

Often got 2 matched, once got 4 ! , but usually only matched on the winner and after a while it was clear i was just going to lose to commission.

I expect that would be true of whatever price you layed or backed in the long term.

I dabbled with that sort of thing too Tober, and my conclusion was the same.
Crowseye, I suspect the in-running markets are probably more accurate that the pre-off markets generally speaking, but opportunities do exist to manually arb across markets, but more  especially if you're bot minded.

The big money is to be made in - running

You need to learn every characteristic of every horse in every field .

Watch as many races as possible and look for good travellers that do not find off the bridle .

Much more chance of being profitable in-running, as long as you choose the right sports

What about in running players on cricket ?  Would you imagine these attend the game or have faster pics ?
