I think the cross-matcher is responsible for most of those bets, it matches a few pence on high odds selections when the overround goes under.

Definitely "cross match" or "bot". Noticed it more and more when I check out race spikes because often when watching a race, I'm surprised to see someone reaching up on a horse when, infact, it was either (a) too early in the race to throw out of the equation or (b) the horse was running fine and, in my view, still had a chance or couldn't be ruled out.

technically master of song did actually reach 999/1, and i know this as i got matched at 1000 for £1.43 (back not lay luckily). it was a complete fluke as i was using the tick offset on gruss and instead of matching at around odds of 60 or something it somehow jumped right up to 1000 at the time gruss placed the bet. just a pity the other £0.57 didnt get matched though. with my £1.43 and the layers bet, then this would make a total of £2.86 matched, however, i dont know if betfair round this up to show £3.00 or someone else was lucky enough to get matched for £0.07 in front of me
