What is the point of the way they did this?  If you want customer  have best posible betting experience, why not merge price from exchange and fixed odd together.

Presumably they don't want the customer to have the best poss. betting experience or even necessarily to get the best poss. price?

Wouldn't it work out better for them to have the casual and neophyte bettors to take their worse-value fixed odds product?

Then anyone who may be able to win long-term has to navigate a confusing thicket of prices and symbols to place a bet. Their long-term incumbent winners / market-makers will feed on bm s hedging and a spread of smaller custom and a lot of the long-term losing bets will have left the pot for the smaller, skill-based winners.

When uninformed money is removed from the pot, it becomes harder to win for everyone still left in.
