how do you get rid of the fractional odds pop up that appears when you have your curser over a price ?
other issues - price boxes seem very small making user mistakes easier (though that may be something for me to sort out with screen resolution).

The bottom line is it is coming. If you are nay, you have to give them feedback every time you use it.
Once again, I question how many of the design team actually use it besides placing one position on an event.
Perhaps if they a) traded b) tried to make book c) had multiple positions/bets to keep track of
they would realize how inappropriate a lot of it is.
I find it really, really irritating.
So the question is: how would someone 'new' to the site take it and would it just numb them away from joining the exchange?

I'm sick of trying to opt-out then seeing it back within a few logins. If it aint broke don't fix it! There's plenty of other real improvements they could be better spending their IT resources on.

Speaking for myself I think its terrible. The graphics are far too bright and the whole layout far less appealing than the old site. I feel it's so bad the people behind it have lost the plot.
When it first came out and it gave me the option to opt out I thought the message implied if I opted out I would never be able to use Beta again so I didn't and thought I'd give it a try. It took me a few hours of hating it before I thought I never want to see it again. Little did I realise that it would give me the same option every time I logged in

So the idea that they should make a decision based on where the traffic goes is deeply flawed since they are directing you to the Beta site. Its like facing the decision to go left or right at a turning. You want to go right but the person directing traffic is warning you against it.
I spoke to Betfair about it and the old site is being phased out so that's why they are trying to influence you towards Beta. I asked the operative if it was due to Beta putting less pressure on the servers and he said it was (although whether the operative knew that or just thought that I've no idea).

Too busy, too childish-looking, too many distractions from the prices. Plus the 'my markets' tab didn't upload to the new format, which was the killer for me.
I'd like to see some degree of customization of how many runners you see per screen--for golf I want fifty, for football three, for racing the whole field without needing to scroll. I have four screens but I need more functionality or I'm missing out on opportunities or getting taken down before I can respond.

Beta is fúcking awful. Is there definitely no way to "opt out", at least for now? Dreadful to think in a couple of months time i could be forced into using Beta and fb timeline!!

Just have the old interface, but with the speed of beta. That's the big improvement of beta, it clogs up a LOT less memory.
Personally, I think it looks better too, but the waste of screen space with banners and useless stuff that causes scrolling is a killer.

I have adblock element hiding helper in firefox to get rid of all the banners that don't add anything. in beta there's no separate details of market and team names, it's just included in the banner, so you can't remove it as you wouldn't see which match the market you're viewing relates to.

I never used 'my markets', because I have an app to load markets for me. Surprised they haven't implemented in beta as obviously quite a few of the more intensive users of the site require it.

When I tried it the total available balance didn't load, it said "try again". When I clicked on the graph for market information it didn't show how much was traded and at what odds. Decent, it isn't.

Personally I don't like it. Whilst I don't mind it being an option, I would be extremely unhappy if I was forced to use this as the only interface available

@henok, I haven't had problems with memory with the past site(s). It also comes down to how someone manages their computer. On speed; yes, it seems to be there. But if you design a car that has acceleration and fuel efficiency but the steering is awkward and difficult, then the pluses don't matter.
There are some very basic design flaws that I have shared with their feedback option.
I had a friend of mine in Canada who is does platform design since 1994 look at it with me (he logged onto my computer remotely). After a three minute lesson on what betfair is about and showing him some trades, bet placements, he started asking me questions then gave his review on it.
He said the use of space is based on the frames the design team came up that would most likely be them trying to 'standardize' the site as you surf around.
But he said their primary should be to maximize the trading aspect of the platform and create the frames from there THEN have the other pages adapt.
He also said the 'visual targeting' was all wrong. The most vital information should be in the top 33% of the screen which is where a user's eyes naturally go to ("the first place people glance at a screen is around 2 to 3 inches from the top once a page loads and is where they are most comfortable"). He also said the site has been designed from a larger screen (a standard mistake) rather than from a 17" which is a good balance between laptop and larger.
He hit me with some other aspects of the design which have been done for speed but said he, like me, found how the page layout was used was not balanced. It should be noted he said all this without seeing the present site.
As mentioned, the site is coming so a matter of feedback being given to betfair so don't opt out.
***NOTE if you don't want to see it, when you log on go to a UK horse race market. Once the old version has loaded, that is what will be there for the session.
BUT DO TRY IT AND DO GIVE THEM FEEDBACK. Like elections, you can't criticize unless you vote.
