Captain Frank, I've seen similar, but have you actually tried backing any of the odds that appear immediately? I suspect the money isn't really there. I've noticed many times that after a goal the 0-1 will come up immediately with the same odds as before the goal, but it disappears when I try to back it, like some sort of ghost glitch in the system. I use Gruss on a 1 second refresh. Back in 2009 I lost hundreds because of this stupid glitch in Betfair's system. I was only looking at the total goals market, and when the odds didn't update after a goal, I had no way of knowing a goal had been scored as I wasn't watching the game. |

Was it an Italian match? For a period, probably around 2009, sometimes the odds would be well out of date, literally minutes old but updating, so it LOOKED like they were valid but they clearly weren't. As I recall it always seemed to be Italian matches, I wondered if perhaps a single betfair computer had "issues" and it's the one that handled italian matches. Not seen it for a while thank god.

NO one of them was a Liverpool Champions League match!!, the problem goes away as soon as people offer at new odds in the market, which is virtually instant on most markets, but not on little side markets.
Nowadays, I'm looking at multiple markets etc. so it's not an issue. Very silly though, that that problem persisted for so long. |

That still happens all the time in the total goals market Investor, and as you say the odds disappear as soon as someone enters new odds or attempts to take the ghost bets on offer - I see it every week in the quieter matches.

In the case of the Liverpool match, there was not even a suspend visible on screen for any period of time.
I sent an email to Betfair, but they couldn't understand what I was on about, saying there was no 'late suspend'. |
