Most likely end up being a free advert for Betfair. Can't see any Matt Chapman asking any probing questions.
By:
well, he's asked for questions... so perhaps there will be some valid ones in there.
By:
We can but hope, yeahyeah. Let's hope the don't use all the ones from xxxxx@betfair.com

just watching, cant see it will be anything really. Already talking about laymans terms and viewers not understanding what betfair is? ffs its a channel dedicated to betting isnt it?
By:
shouldn't have appeared on this program without knowing the full explanation.
By:
Q. how did it happen?
A. Somehow someone exceeded their exposure limit. Good job this guy is doing |
By:
this is clueless PR.

By:
stop digging!
By:
questioner is doing ok imo, just answers are shyte
By:
jesus this guy is so evasive, would be pulled walking through the airport for outstanding shifty-ness
By:
increasingly suspicious that the bet was a HTTP screenscrape dodging website validation.
lovely person to blame, open and shut case. this just fuels rumours. |
By:
why not just give the guys exposure limit, or ball park figure hundreds thousands etc
By:
Lol is he actually going to give a direct answer to any question
By:
not answering simple exposure question will fuel rumours that its a high roller etc
By:
hes awful
![]() |
By:
he can't give a direct answer because he doesn't have all the information.
there is no pressing urgency on this. it's something that can easily wait 24 hours with a statement now announcing that a full statement and explanation will be given in 24 hours time. |
By:
technicalogical failure

By:
hes put himself up now for Q & A now though
![]() |
By:
I havent been fully briefed
![]() He must know if it was via API of web, shirley? |
By:
i think he's doing very well given the decision to come on here with next to no information.
By:
i think he's doing very well given the decision to come on here with next to no information
Its poor decision to come on without even 1 piece of information that is new. and try and field Q & As from public. Just looks silly |
By:
Ds, he's had over a day to look into this do you really think he's that little info as their main PR.
By:
why would the cross matching bot have an exposure limit?
he has no idea what it's talking about. the whole point of cross matching is that it never had any exposure, and it's not a bot per se anyway. it's part of a matching algorithm. |
By:
trys not to read betfair forum.
Nice one for all the developer and moderators hard work ![]() |
By:
Lol - no idea at all
By:
The x matcher has a limit to protect it from situations where a late NR's reduction factor isn't in line with it's price DS
By:
cross matcher limit, yeah it stops making money around 21m per market when the bucket is full
By:
commercially sensitive = I don't understand it
By:
ah ha. apologies. of course, i stand corrected. naturally it won't on the cricket and tennis.
By:
in fact, any market which doesn't have runners removed
By:
How many times can he state "unique set of circumstances" to answer every question and excuse this mess?
By:
he doesnt have a clue is what i am taking away from that.
By:
and if something totally distorts the market the x matching bot keeps the in running market at nigh on 100% so their bot is fundamentally flawed and yet yesterday the site remained up with the x matching bet running a minute later. This 'glitch' was noticeable instantly 'an obvious error' according to betfair the money was up early on in the race, after 2 hurdles, yet the race remained in running but if they're late putting the race in play they often suspend for the entire race!
By:
Did anybody actually ask how they would've settled the race had the horse lost or was it "a bet to nothing"?
By:
yes he said it would have been voided if it won or lost
