I burned my self heavily today, by placing a bet on that lazy gimp Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. My first tennis bet for almost 2 months.
I placed my bet in the beginning of 2nd set, when he was a set up. Immediately after my bet he was broken for the first time! The next hour I watched reminded my of many of his previous games where he has been walking around not giving **** if he wins of loses. I really should have known today, as it was an exhibition match - but I took my chances.
After the game I looked into my records and saw something that I was kind of expecting to see. In the year of 2011 I made a tennis profit of almost $56 after staking over $20.000. This is actually not that bad, as very many return a loss after tennis betting - but lets face it. If I adjust my winnings to the time spent watching tennis, I could have made more profit by wandering the streets picking up cans and bottles for recycling - WITHOUT ANY RISK!
So I guess it is time for my to give up on tennis. I know for sure that I'm neither good at betting on tennis, nor giving up tennis betting. So my question is, where to I find the self control to quit tennis for good? I don't consider my self a gambling addict, as I don't find it difficult to stay away from betting when I don't have money in my account. But when I do have money in my account, I find myself constantly looking for good bets. This often leads to tennis, as tennis is played during the day when there is not much else going on!
So can you recommend any methods to give up on tennis? Should I do it like recovering alcoholics? Take it one day at a time?
Anyone here who has managed to stay away from tennis and can give me some advise??
Wandering the streets picking up ginger bottles in some places i.e Glasgow is far riskier then trading on the tennis...
In all seriousness just don't watch any tennis at all or even look at the tennis markets,no checking the fixtures or results, from now on Tennis does not exist to you.

Not quite sure what you mean by "tennis is played during the day" - tennis is played at all sorts of hours, the tour go around the world, starts off in oceania in Jan where it stays for a month, then it's is North america / south america and Europe till april, then soley europe until the end of wimbledon where it then splits back in to North america /europe until September where it hits the Asian swing for a month until finish in Europe again.
Tennis is the best trading sport, given the rapid swings in odds it's very easy to lock in a profit if you know what you're doing.
ps NO OFFENCE - but but his is an exhibition so I wouldn't complain, players are just warming on, exhibitions are not betting material so to speak, players like Tsonga are much more interested in the bigger tournies like masters and slams - you get more effort there.

@Ayers That is true, but what I actually meant was that it is often played when nothing else is going on. Matches in Asia are often broadcasted early in the morning. European Matches during the day. US matches are maybe the exception as the are on during the evening in Europe.
I gues it true what jamesdean says. Tennis doesn't exist anymore and I simply must resist. I guess there is no other way but using the discipline.

Games played in Asia = late morning/early afternoon UK time North / South America = Evening/late night UK time Europe = UK time up to +3,
Honestly don't know what you'e on about as they're on at all hours.
But good luck, find a different sport if you can't make Tennis pay, in running horse running for example - but here's a tip - don't back runners at 28/1 when they're about to win.

Immediately after my bet he was broken for the first time!
How immediate was it? You didn't place the bet during live play (as opposed to tv play) did you?
