Hey guys I'm here with a question... here's the scenario. I bet £10 on James Wade at 13 before the PDC World Darts Championship started, now Phil Taylor is out his price has been cut significantly as you can see here: http://sports.betfair.com/?mi=103963832&ex=1&origin=POD

My question is could anybody help me with how to best "lock in" profit by laying him? Is that possible?

Cheers anybody!

You're new, so I'll assume you're not fishing here.

If you lay £10 at the currently available 6.4 on Wade you'll have secured yourself a risk-free position - you'll win £62 ish if Wade wins, and if he loses, you'll lose nothing.

You could alternately lay a bit more on Wade, say £20 in total - you'll then lock in c. £10 profit whoever wins.

Hope this makes sense.

is the £10 important to you ...??

if no - leave bet

if yes - try the above

No it isn't particularly important to me and no I wasn't fishing... Thanks, wasn't seriously considering actually laying at this point was just looking for clarification about what I thought was the case. Thanks to both

For future reference, click "More options" (just under the amount matched in the market) and tick "Display what if figure" and "Show profit and loss"

Then you can type numbers in (DONT PRESS SUBMIT) as bets and the screen will show you what would happen if you did hit submit

You wont make a profit laying off your position unless it is under odds
.This is true in all markets and not unless you have an edge that nobody else has lay off at 1.7 is a good figure.
