I can understand exactly what you mean as I am learning new programming languages to arrive at my goal and if I didnt have some
background in this area I would for certain be putt off with veturing down this route, I can say its not impossible for anyone to
learn prograsmming skills but its a long road and requires a lot of conviction.

For me one of the catalists for my personal application quest is the poor quality of whats available on the market these days

The only respectful ones are the excel linked types like gruss which allow you to personalise  triggers but although a great
facility, whats the point if you dont own the correct data for arriving at a profitable method
what yiou have to do is create databases for market data and then sift through this with filters historically to arrive at
valuable methods, this is where all comercial applications fall down and betfairs historical csv data is horibbly
thrown together with little concern for being user friendly, one wonders if betfair are trader friendly anymore
which is a reverse of its ethos that rose it to fame and fortune.

I'm sorry but if you're supposed to be a profitable gambler and the casino is a big part of your rules, you're a mug.

It is not possible to beat the casino.

Some people will win short term. Some people, by sheer weight of numbers will win long term.

But they have not beaten the casino, the casino is laughing all the way to the bank.

With the casino, even when you win you lose.

It's just chance.

If you have X pounds now, then your expected bank after your next casino bet is X-X*CasinoEdge, and no amount of staking or selection can change that.

Casino and Arcade are for complete mugs. If you realise this and get out of it then you have a chance. If you try to convince yourself otherwise then I have little respect.

wouldnt it be better to if all the casino players made folded there money money into paper airoplanes and took it in turns to either throw
it off a multi-storey car park or be at the ground level with a good butterfly net, smashing fun.

By:

When: 08 Dec 11 15:14
It depends what you mean by win.

Can you go to a casino and leave with reasonably more than you entered? Yes, of course you can get lucky.

Can you do this regularly? No of course not.

Can you do anything to affect the chance you'll double your money? No, not really.

Whenever you play a casino game you are handing money to the casino. Casinos pay out less on average than they take in bets. That's how they profit. You can't change this. If you play blackjack you can give the casino MORE of an edge by playing "perfectly", but even with a perfect game the casino has an edge.

You can never engineer a bet in a casino where you have an edge.

I lost for more than 10 years and deeply enjoyed it, it's much more exciting to watch a match when your money is on the line, you feel the match from the inside it's a great feeling. And all these losses finally learned me how to win, so it's all benefit.
By:
Wicked Whisper
When: 08 Dec 11 16:18
I've heard even card counters are favoured by the casino because the edge is so razor thin, they normally end up profiting either way.
By:
ror
When: 08 Dec 11 16:30
Yes, casinos like to make a show of banning card counters to hype the illusion that people can make money card counting.

With modern deck rotations and shuffling machines, card counting won't get you an edge, but there's nothing the casino loves more than someone walking in who thinks they have an edge.

This is just like Hills etc who pretend they've taken a hammering any time a favourite wins a big race, or pretend they get cleaned out every time man u win the league.

It's all rubbish designed to keep the illusion alive that gambling can be a profitable pasttime for the punter.

I would give the OP a couple of pieces of advice which are absolutely priceless!

Close your Betfair account immediately and chuck your PC into the nearest skip.

When I was 20 years old my priorites were playing football, drinking and s******g women. (strictly in that order)

Now my knees are fecked and I can hardly walk.

My liver is fecked and I can't drink anymore.

Don't even mention the third, not even with help of the little blue pill or a splint.

WTF are you doing on here at 20 years old?

Get the feck out there and start living FFS!

You can come back and do this S H I T later when you have burnt yourself out.

Not everybody thinks all there is to living is going out playing football, drinking and sleeping with women.

Though I do enjoy two of those, I also like gambling.

Sometimes the forum can be more of a shark pool than the markets! Poor old Meltdown, you've all jumped down his throat. Ok the casino stuff you need to forget about Meltdown, but the rest wasn't that bad.

I hate casinos they are useless for profits in the long run, football bets only, but saying that i do go once a month, and as for girls & alcholic parts... every young lad says 'Been there done that' I had my own model agency, & i can admit i haven't been there & done all that, id prefer to stay in & make profits :)

GOD SO MANY REPLYS WHOOOP WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Getting close to the bone there Frog!

Yes Melt, casino's are ok for a night out and a laugh, but that's all. Playing online casino's is futile obviously, but many are addicted.

So you think you have an edge in football markets? You should be able to  state (to yourself) exactly why you are making or losing money. Can you state that?

Fck. me now I've heard it all.
You would rather lay football teams than gorgeous girls.
I don't think slarti is going to be too impressed if and when he reads this little extra gem of info.

No. i closed the business, because well lets say you know what most girls are like now days. most strippers are wannabe models, & will never reach high fashion & major catwalk models had 100s of them applying, & most wannabe models who have started there career venuted into adult industery, so i didn't want them types on my books either, to build a premier brand you need premier staff & models, and after giving diet plans, exersice plans, giving them advice, tips, health products ect... case closed. But now the events side is going amazingly well. I use betfair & bet365 for profit towards my business but i don't always make profit i start with a pot, transfer part of then pot, calulate profits & looses per week & write them down in my notepad ect :)
