Coolhand - I was sleep on your request Laugh. I am hoping that Paulme will over time start to learn from other forum contributors in a more balanced and somewhat quieter manner.

He has quite clearly lost all respect on this forum and one would hope that he will turn a corner any minute now .....

Slow and steady Undern, as i said the other day i can see you becoming proud of your consistency and building a determination, which will help your discipline enormously, something every gambler suffers from at times, and something i think hindered your last challenge.  Whilst its not as exciting for us in the cheap seats, i find it good reading nevertheless and it serves as encouragement, even though i suspect i have a very different MO to you, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Okay so like I said last night had a very good day with only a small hit.

Trying my best to remain focused on a couple of markets rather than spread myself too heavily across all sorts of weird and wonderful markets ... but saying that I did put a small lay up in the Murray tennis match just taking place ....

Hope everyone has a good day betting.

Well Paul has definitely been banned, so hopefully that's the end of him for a bit. Perhaps he'll realise that there're a lot of people other than me who had a problem with him, and that he can't just throw his weight around. If lots of people are telling you to stop doing something, you can't just stick one finger up at them and tell them you'll do whatever you want..

I don't like the idea of reporting, but it seems to have been the right thing to do in this case, so thanks Hejik.

By:

Well tbh - I didn't wish for him to be banned. Simply for him to know what is reasonable and what isn't. Fine with the occasional disagreement and reasonable question but some of the personal attacks and constant barrage of posts and questions (especially to the big players on the p&l thread) was absolutely ridiculous.

Undern, banning him was the only thing that would have worked, to be honest. A number of us have asked him many times (and in very forceful terms in the cases of some of us) to stop doing what he's been doing, and he's made it pretty clear that he'll do whatever he wants to. But the fact that he's been banned sends out the pretty clear message that he can't simply throw his weight around and get away with it.    He'll be back under a different name, but if he starts misbehaving again, hopefully the threat of getting banned once more will make him think more clearly - there're only so many new Betfair accounts he can open, surely..

Anyway, he's gone for now, so let's just get on with more important matters...   Hope your bot's hard at work chasing those dogs!

By:

No no Undern, the 'Lord Bobbin' at the bottom of Cooee's post was to signify that that post really came from me!  Laugh  I wanted to see how easy it was to start posting under a new username. As you can see, it's very easy indeed!

I've posted another idea for fixing the problem in the Site Feedback forum, so I'll see if that gets any responses...

No point it seems, Bobby. You shouldn't be able to register a new chatname until after you've linked some sort of credit card or other service to your account and deposited money. That way you would at least be restricted to only as many credit cards etc. as you own.

A more elegant solution would be to let the thread-starter maintain a blocked list for their thread. If somebody was being a pain, the thread-starter could simply block them from posting. That would help clean up long-term threads and would cut out a lot of the abuse that certain topics get subjected to.

Anyway, I'll stop filling Undern's thread with nonsense on this subject. We all know Paul will be back tonight, and I suspect he'll be twice as obnoxious as before. (Although if he does play up, I'm going to report the little git myself. Should keep me busy...)

Gee I must be the only one on this forum with just the one username/account. LB - I have already suggested the functionality for the OP to block a poster to Betfair when I dealt with them regarding getting this thread put back up ....

Speaking purely for myself Coolhand, you have nothing to apologise for. Your posts are far from voluminous, and they always seem fair and well-reasoned to me. If a certain person had read your posts rather than taking offense at them, he might well have found out a thing or two that helped him.

Anyway, for the last time, I'd better go now. The form for the UK racing awaits...

Just quickly... The 'Betfair Community Manager 2' (is there only 2 of them??) has posted this response:

Hi Lord Bobbbin

I'm not sure that we could give unilateral rights to ban posters form threads to another customer. I take your point, but I think it could be divisive.

I would rather customers report the offenders and let our admins take action - which brings me onto your second point...

On the matter of what is required to create new chatnames: that is a very fair observation, and something we are working on right now.

There you go LB - Paulme => "pippolol".

Pippolol - why do you feel that is a very nice thing to say. It was his own doing and got what BF (and many forum users) thought he deserved. He was very child like with his communication to others and let himself down big time. I would be ashamed if someone I knew acted so disrespectfully as he did ....
By:
LordBobbbin

Well don't talk to Pippo as though he's a different person, Undern.  You could really mess with his mind, doing that...

Nor me. Somebody must have reported him though.  Oh well. That really does seem to be that!   First my Herman Cain bet comes in on the Republican Nominee market, and now Paul vanquished. Plus I've had a decent afternoon on the UK racing. Happy days indeed!
