A couple of API apps such as BetAngel and Evo have a "training" mode or similar in them which allows you to simulate your positions on live market data. I think the Geeks Toys may also have put such a feature in recently.
it only works and simulates pre pc but so do all exchanges that do it properly.
great stuff, now to win millions in virtual cash ;)
