@ frimpong, yes mate frightening really i was a minute away from around 19 points profit, that goal alone takes me to about 0.36 points profit for the month. Saturday is going to make or break this month. I still can't believe Chelsea threw it away so late, i guess that's football though. Ideally i would like 10 points plus profit for the month but we'll have to see Saturday. I may even end up down for the month if this weekend doesn't go my way. The strange thing is i would still lay Napoli and Leverkusen if they were to play again, lol.

Really need to get my thinking cap on for this weekend. Although the past few days have hurt me a bit I'm still slightly in profit which would make my monthly profit success at 100%. I'm currently around 78 points profit in 63 bets which i think is excellent so far especially considering my 5 or 8 point stake. Hope i have a good weekend and if not nevermind, I'm learning all the time.

Careful with that chasing Bingo. Wait for the opportunities to come your way rather than trying to make something happen. In the greater scheme of things, whether you make a profit in the next few days or not isn't really relevant, so you don't want to screw up your system and risk leaving yourself in a hole by taking bets you're not happy with.

@ cooee, welcome to my thread and I kind of agree with what your saying mate, maybe I'm still hurting a bit from a bad few days. However i cannot ignore the current statistics, Sandhausen haven't lost at home in their last 9 games where as Osnabruck have won twice away from home in 10 and their last away win in September. Sandhausen have lost twice in 17 games and currently sit top. 3/1 is a price i have to take on given the current statistics.

Okey doke. Sounds quite plausible. In their last four games, Osnabruck have played the current bottom three sides and have failed to win any of those matches. So those odds away from home against the current leaders seem rather too short.  Let's just hope the Liga 3 specialists don't know something!

Probably wasn't as easy as you might have hoped, but 0-0s will do the job nicely.  I don't know whether that was just a poor performance from the home side or a good performance from the away side, but the closeness seems to suggest the market-makers were about right. Who can tell with these little leagues though?

Month 3 - November Results and Review

I won't be placing anymore bets this month so I shall write this out now. November is complete and I got there in the end. Its safe to say that this month has been my hardest, certainly been the most up and down month so far. Relieved its come to an end if I'm honest, lol.

I couldn't of got off to a worse start and hopefully I won't start a month like this again. My first 3 lays consisted of Watford @ 2.6, Blackpool @ 4.1 and Rubin @ 2.04. Watford beat Brighton 1 nil. Blackpool beat Leeds 5 nil at Elland Road and Rubin beat Spurs 1 nil also. 3 bets in and minus 28.7 points. I know from that moment this was going to be a very difficult month. My next lat if I'm being honest was probably a bit of a chase, I laid Shamrock Rovers and they comfortably lost. Hurray, finally got a winner.

On the 5th of November and a very busy Saturday i laid Blackpool, Hull, Bristol City and Coventry. Bristol City won and the remaining 3 lost. I followed that on the Sunday with lays of Hannover, Cagliari and Reading, Reading won but as the odds where so short I was still in profit for the day. I was starting to feel better about the month ahead. My next lay was Braga against Benfica and a very entertaining match that kept getting suspended because the lights kept going off, lol. My lay won anyway and put me on - 2.63 points for the month.

I then laid Estonia, Morcambe and Sweden. All 3 lost and my points balance now stood at + 11.62. I was delighted with this after such a bad start. I also had a bit of a whinge about the lack of comments. Sorry about that I then laid Blackpool, Coventry and Pompey and again all 3 lost. Then the turning point in the month came when i decided there was no way on earth Napoli would be a City team that needed to win. I was so confident i risked 8 points on it instead of the normal 5. Napoli did win and I couldn't believe it. City obviously need more experience in Europe. The same night i laid Coventry and i think they drew with Cardiff so a winning bet.

I then laid Dortmund against Arsenal and although they beat Bayern Munich that weekend i just could not see them beating a very much on form Arsenal and in particular Robin Van Persie. Dortmund lost. Unfortunately I laid Leverkusen against chelsea and they won the match in the final minute. Absolute heartache. I would also like to add that although at the time it hurts when i lose so many points, its also probably the best thing that can happen at times because its helping my discipline so much having these losing days. I was a minute from being on + 19 points profit, instead the goal put me on 0.36 for the month.

I then went against my rule of thumb and laid a team purely on stats. First time I've done this, the stats where overwhelming and so was the price. Osnabruck @ 4.1 and the bet won. I then went on to state that the weekend would define my month and it certainly did. I laid West Brom, Blackpool, Bristol Rovers and Gateshead and fortunately all 4 lost. The funny thing about the West Brom game is that I actually laid them for twice my normal mistake by accident. Thankfully they lost. Final lay of the month was Liverpool @ 2.76 at home to City and i was probably a bit fortunate with that lay.

So many ups and downs this month but again its a profitable one. Ideally I don't want to be laying as many teams as I am but maybe that will change in future. Also I'm actually on Bet no.70 not 69, I will correct that with my next bet. I hope the points are right as well as Its a lot to add up at once. Thank you.

You started (as you pointed out in your first post) with a bank of £160 and then for a while you quoted everything in £ amounts but then all of a sudden you changed over to points.

Simply would like to know what each point is worth in £ so everyone can see how your £160 starting bank has grown.

@ undern, sorry I'm only just getting back to you I've been a bit busy. I couldn't genuinely answer how much I've made during this thread alone because I have placed other bets to, with mixed success. I am trying to concentrate on only laying teams but every so often a bet comes along that I just cannot ignore. Still a small bank though, about £435 now and I've been using £2.50 per point. If I can make a reasonable profit by the end of the season then I will more than likely up my stakes next season and invest more money for a bigger bank.

Hello, feel slightly let down this weekend. How Stoke took 3 points yesterday is beyond me, some terrible decisions by the ref. Adebayor was a good two yards onside. Chris Foy cost me 24 points yesterday. I'm really trying not to moan as I make the selections and football throws up the unexpected at times. Again tonight City 1 up and Silva should of had a pen, not given.

On the plus side I've clawed back a few points tonight and I currently sit on - 33.95 for the month. I always knew I would have bad months just didn't expect to feel a bit robbed. The Basel lay I could take on the chin as it was a fair game and a fair result. The Stoke game however I still cannot accept, lol.
Going to be difficult to make a profit this month but we'll see.

Hello, bad night for me again. Really, really struggling at the moment. I think I was slightly chasing today. Laying Scottish teams, what was I thinking. This month is a write off now. I'm just going to concentrate on being more selective and picking up points slowly. Such a fine line here. I may even dismiss the month thing and go with a set number of Lays as Denniswise did. i was thinking today about my Chelsea lay and how that wipes out say 6-8 good lays. hard to build a bank it really is with yo-yo'ing up down up down. dont know how people do it

for what its worth i originally thought the month idea was bad. u would always come unstuck. why dont u just lay teams and keep a running total of how much you've made. far easier to keep tabs on and stops you chasing. keep at it though. you've still made a nice profit.

Therefore how can you place such large bets ?

@ undern, hello. My bank is currently at £623 but that is because of other bets to. It doesn't matter about stake size, all that matters is the liability, which is about 280. I've had to lay for a lot to try and recover some points for the thread. I knew I would be criticised for it but at the end of the day my profit is that matters. The amount of decisions I've had against me recently is somewhat frightening and I probably won't have them again for the rest of the season. I laid Burnley yesterday and 13 minutes into the game Brighton had 9 men. I cannot account for such a thing happening.

I'm also tempted (as stated by me and someone else on the thread) to move away from the monthly profit and loss and have a running total. I feel the monthly betting is forcing me to be erratic. Also if I'm getting towards the end of the month 15/20 points in profit I will be far more cautious with my lays, which shouldn't be the way. I've had a terrible month though so I'm not sure wether it is just my wallet talking, lol.

Hello, first of all I would like to apologise for laying 3 teams on Sunday at 15 points each. It goes against everything I've done so far and will not happen again. I'm constantly thinking of ways I can improve my betting and the and after a bad month I'm going to change a few things. I'm very much learning each and every month. For my higher odd lays I'm going to start lowering the the stake, there for lowering the liability. I'm also going to be far more selective from now on.

I'm currently 18.1 points down for this month. I'm doing away with monthly betting and also going to make a few changes regarding the layout of my thread.

@ qwertyd, looking back through my results I've laid a lot of favourites. My most successful month is the month in which I laid the most favourites so I'm trying to get back to the shorter odds. A bad month all started by a lay of Basel which were over 6.0 and I need to stop that especially for a level stake. Its still very much a learning curve.

Tottenham are home, Tottenham have a 100% record in London derbies this year, thanks betfair, lol. Tottenham's form is better than Chelsea's. They haven't lost at home in the league since City hammered them 5-1 and that was way back in August. Not only that but they have won every league game at home this season apart from the City game. On the other hand Chelsea have lost at Old Trafford, lost at Loftus Road, narrowly beat a poor Blackburn side and drew against Wigan most recently. I think Spurs should be favourites for this.

Oh and I've reached the one hundred milestone, yey.

Hello everyone. Just a quick announcement I currently stand on around 81 points and this last month has been dreadful for me. I'm not enjoying laying teams only at all. I am also doubting wether I can make this pay sufficiently long term. I am very honest and transparent with my views and wether I am doing good or bad. I've still made a nice profit out of laying teams but not sure wether I should continue really. You only have to look at Trader11's thread to see how well he's doing and I congratulate him on that.

Recently I've been backing and laying selections in football and other sports and I've made a small profit. Not sure wether I should continue with laying teams really.
