I dipped below 40 % using the old calculation last week(25/-31/7) and the PC portal is for the first time showing the numbers based on PC2 calculations. Other charges has increased significantky and I understand this is done as a top-up as if you had been on 40 % PC all the time. What I don't get is why Premium Charges(exc. last week) also have increased, also this by a relativly large amount even if it's far from as big as the top-up under other charges. It has certainly not increased due to me paying more PC as the PC2 top-up has taken me well avove 40 % again. I would appreciate it if someone knew why the latter also has increased ?
I've not had a bet since the Open,so my portal hasn't changed since the new rates came in.
My portal also shows a large increase in both other charges and premium charges. The only connection I can make between the numbers is that (other charges-premium charge actually paid)is 10 times premium charges.
For example if I had paid £700 premium charge under PC1.
My new portal could now look like this---
Other Charges £ 100,700 Premium Charges (exc. last week) £ 10,000
My total charges figure is spot on.
I expected it to be 50.00%, but it seems to take into account my losses on the Open and shows 50.08%

Ok, so your Premium Charges(exc.last week) has also increased. That is or at least used to be exactly what I had paid in PC so I think it's strange that one is increased. Does anyone know the logic behind this ?

Interesting missing x factor in the calculations proccess, may I ask from the info supplied by you both against the little I admit I know about how the charge is calculated whether this anomaly means you pay less premium charge or more now than the way the charge is perceived or understood to be calculated as it looks to me like its better for pc payers which would be fairer to them

If that number is increased due to an error it would be benefitial against future PC, but it probably isn't an error as JML also has had his raised, butis still "only" on 50 % which he is supposed to be now.
It's probably just down to some strange logic from the pc team at Btfair towers, but I would like to know the reasoning behind it.

The amount I lost on the golf was very similar to the amount of PC I had paid.
Therefore my 50.00% became 50.08% was due to the PC I had paid many months ago.
I think I've made a mistake Eddie. The amount I lost on the golf was very similar to the amount of PC I had paid. Therefore my 50.00% became 50.08% was due to the PC I had paid many months ago.
The reason for 10-1 split in my case is because I'm on 50%.
In you case (40%) the split would be 10-0-----and 10-2 in the case of a 60% payer.
Probably makes it easier for Betfair, when someone has to move from one PC2 band to another.

My numbers aren't close to thta rati, but I'm currently well above 40 % due to the PC2 top-up. What I don't get is why the Premium Charges(exc last week) figure has increased. That figure used to be exactly what I had paid in PC, but no anymore. Can you please confirm that this number has increased on your statement too - without you having paid any more PC ?

Looking at my account---They've totally ignored previous figures and started from scratch.
So they needed to add £220K to my account---
They've done this by adding £200K to Other Charges and £20K to PC.
Now my total charges is 50.00%
They have now added the PC I've actually paid to other charges.

My portal display shows an increased 'other charges' value representing the catch-up but my 'premium charges' still reads zero.
Not sure if this helps?

I can only think they have charged PC at the new rate (40%) going back to when the first PC was introduced and then 'topped up' the remainder in 'other charges' to make the exact 40% calc.

catfloppo, so you never paid any of the PC1 ? And so far no PC2 either ? Have you just been unlucky last couple of weeks, are have you successfully managed to "churn" enough to not paying ?

birch, if anything like that it would have to be the other way round as my top-up under other charges is far bigger than what they have added to PC paid. I still don't think that is what they have done though as the first top-up we got when PC first was introduced was placed undr other charges.
Are there anyone else out there who also has had their PC paid figure increased during the transmission to PC2, without actually having paid that increase ?
If so, do you know why Betfair has done this ?

Eddie, no pc1 - my rate was always above 20%. Won't pay any pc2 for some time, if ever. I'll be happy to pay it tbh as it will mean things going better than I expect.

Cheers catfloppo---- I was hoping for a different answer.
There must be a reason why they made it up to 43.8% and not 40.00%
There is the obvious similarity between 43.8% and 33.8%.
But one is 13.8 above the buffer and the other is only 3.8.
Mine went from 20.16% to 50.08%.

JML, it's because they simulate the amount of pc I would have paid if pc2 had always been in place i.e. taking into account losing weeks. Hence I have a buffer.

Since the last time you would have paid PC2, the commission you have generated is more than 40%.
It was my Open losses, but not because they were on the last week.
You've must have generated a lot of commission to get such a large buffer.
