My guess is that any new account that wins at too quick a rate will be under extreme scrutiny and may face a freezing of their balance. After all, how many new tennis trading legends are born every week?

Bayes, what if they run their bot through ten different people's accounts and say they taught them all? Is every winning account now going to be phoned up and told they're banned unless they give betfair 60% of their winnings. In my case, will any Scotsman who happens to win by backing (outsiders in particular) be immediately leaped on? Is betfair now effectively a closed shop?

A bot would be difficult to spot but not impossible. New api accounts can't be that common and I'm pretty sure bots (including my own) have a signature of some sort. I think Betfair could effectively make it a closed shop unless a successful account is built slowly.

Might be wise to diversify their betting and start punting more at probable neutral value on other stuff to diversify their betting patterns. But suppose if a new account pops up making 10k a week on the tennis it will be treated as highly suspicious.
Still, betfair could only freeze the funds, surely.... they couldn't confiscate the funds unless could prove a link to a previous user.?

Surely there are lots of people who created second accounts to get round the 20% PC charge. Anyone out there like to share how BF have found out that their accounts are linked? Cant see 'betting patterns' being in there?

i'd imagine anyone who sets up an account which wins handsomely from the off would be scrutinised over the coming months - especially if it was created this week
