Depends if you can do them all in one week and cash out before wednesday or not.

I make it 91 bets at 0 commission or 96 bets based on 5% commission.

can you show working out UA mate?
Report U.A. July 14, 2011 10:33 PM BST
Not offhand but it is easy to do in excel, first step is to change the lay price into a back price, I think it came out as  1.025something.
After that it's just a quick bit of excel jiggery pokery multiplying it to the stake and so forth.

Hope that helps a bit. (sorry i deleted my workings) but it only takes about 5 mins or so. Unfortunately i'm off to bed in a sec.

Successfully laying a 40/1 shot would produce a 2.5% increase with 5% comms that becomes 2.375% so if you know the rate the calc would be

(1.02375)^n = 10 (1000/100)

log[(1.02375)^n] = log (10)
n.log(1.02375) = log(10)
n=log(10)/log(1.02375)
n = 98.09774

Didn't you do maths at school paulme?
Report paulme July 14, 2011 10:41 PM BST
yes but i was ill on the logarithm day Laugh

so it's 98 bets?

TG for excel.
Report Ghetto Joe July 14, 2011 10:45 PM BST
99 I'm afraid at 5% comms

100*(1.02375)^98=997.71
100*(1.02375)^99=1021.40

£137.71 is the bank after 10 bets. am i ahead of schedule mr joe?
Report Ghetto Joe July 14, 2011 10:51 PM BST
Yes , well ahead of schedule. I suspect you probably aren't offering 40/1, best be careful or betfair will want their pound of flesh

Pualme is PC bound !

more likely gonna lay a winner soon froggy.

joe - some lay odds have been in the 20s not 40s. guess that's why
Report FINE AS FROG HAIR July 14, 2011 11:04 PM BST
Don't be negative.
Report U.A. July 15, 2011 11:35 AM BST
Hello

I was assuming odds of 40 rather than odds of 40-1 as this increment is not available on betfair. Good luck with it anyway whatever odds you choose.
