Following the latest changes and huge increases in pc, this has become abundently clear.

They don't want people who provide decent amounts of liquidity to do so, they are basically telling them to sod off so they can start seeding them all by themselves.

They are so far removed from what they used to be that the founders would turn in their graves.

They have always been so.

Their profits are losers' losses minus winners' wins and their own costs (staff, infrastructure, overheads etc.) Why did you think it was any other way?

Yep turtle can be very funny if and when you get under his skin.
Almost worth doing on purpose, though of course, I wouldn't think of doing any such thing.

Its clear by their all statements that they are planing to turn on BOTS and get rid of all Highrollers to ensure that they are creating a lot of money. Yes they are becoming a bookmaker and everything they did will sooner or later be doomed by their own greed!

''the founders would turn in their graves.''

Are they dead, then? All that cash then brown bread before 50 -unlucky!

(I suspect you'll find they're alive and kicking, not exactly thrilled how things have panned out of late, but still minted - good luck to them).

BF want the profit margins of a bookie, with the stock multiple of an exchange (monopoly).

It would be amusing if they end up with profit margins of an exchange, with the stock multiple of a bookie.

Turtle, its been fairly common knowledge for a few years now that the ultimate destination of the betfair "roadmap", was the betfair sportsbook.I even posted about it a few months ago when i predicted it will come on a day of forum meltdown, yet i was disbelieved and accused of making up stories.

If Betfair wanted to seed markets they would surely do it through another company to enable them to keep the exchange label? If Betfair the exchange becomes Betfair the bookmaker they would lose customers in droves.

I've long thought they already do this as it makes sense for them to do it. What aroused my suspicions was when the large football market making lumps started disappearing one second before every suspension like clock work - they're definitely connected to the suspend monkey's button.

They will definitely try and do both.

FWIIW, I think they will fail in the execution.

If you want to know why, take a look at the new screen that comes up for a soccer game. I bet 95% navigate straight past it to the old interface.

I recently retired from the internet SW biz and I know a bit about it.

That screen says to me, 'can't execute the vision'.

A bookie that can't lose and can help itself to its customers' winnings... hmmm.

They'll get tucked up pretty neatly by cleverer people than themselves if they're not very careful.

When they first started trading their own markets a few years back, the lads in malta were making quite a big loss. I'm guessing they have ironed out all of the teething troubles for them to now take on the world.

In certain (big) markets, whatever they do and however good they think they are, Betfair / Malta will absolutely always be trailing in the wake of true Sharp Minds. Fact.
