BT ridiculously slow and expensive in comparison according to speed tests and package fees on comparison web sites so I am considering a switch of provider

I am fed up of all the buffering on I player and betfair video which is occuring now

BE broadband has the best speed figures in my area

In the distant past though I was with tiscali and they were awful and I would not care to switch and repeat that mistake

What does everyone think about this lot ?

I'm on BE... these guys are nothing like Tiscali.... I couldn't be happier with my service.  Feel like I pay a little more than I have to but get decent speed / connection and customer service (somewhere in E Europe - v competent and helpful)

Thanks martinch.

Thats a good recommendation

Yes I notice they are not the cheapest but you usually get what you pay for

Will almost certainly switch to BE but i do not doubt BT will not make it easy to do so

+1 for BE. Very good connection quality. The routers they ship are a bit crap, though, and can be a bit wimpy when trying to do a lot of wireless stuff. If you use wired connection, though, it'll be sweet. I've got 20mbit off them atm for 20ish quid a month. Happy as can be.

I changed from Virgin cable to Talk Talk and regretted it.

Talk Talk are much cheaper, but nowhere near as good as Virgin cable.

What do you think of 3 mobile broadband? looked into purchasing it, without a contract but the value's is not what I was really looking for, 7GB for £25 per month, and 3GB for £15 per month.

With BE, do they have Mobile broadband with unlimited download offers without contracts for a decent price?

BT are desperate Cry. Keep losing my connection all the time. Might look into BE after reading this.

Just a wee bit concerned as I have a lap top and use a wireless connection

I also read a similar comment about their routers on one of the consumer comparison websites

I have to admit I do not use their router for my wireless connection (I use the 'bebox' to connect to the ISP and my own newfangled router for the wireless signal)

I've been with Andrews & Arnold since 2002 (I think).  I pay 28/month but never any charges and I have a constant feed going from several sites throughout the day.

I'm moving to St Albans and the flat I have taken is within 100 feet of an exchange.

I was thinking of packaging up against phone bundles, etc (use cell for business).  Any suggestions from anyone in St Albans appreciated.  Those remaining in London...Andrews and Arnold - no frills but no problems either.

I've been in the same flat for 9+ years.  Large with garden, etc.  Excellent place for the ££'s and did make me/us a bit lazy about moving.

Shapeshifter jr and Princess shapeshifter continue to grow.  So an excuse move on.

Happy
