My account statement shows +£850 over the last 3 months, (probably comprised of somewhere in the region of 3850 wins and £3000 of losses)
I heard that if your account statement shows +5k or more in the last 3 months then you should start to worry, or look to a new exchange (which is what I intend to should betfair have the audacity to demand 20% of my profits)

"Your account has not incurred Premium Charges. If you become eligible to incur Premium Charges in the future, we will contact you before any charges are paid. If you require any further assistance, please contact premiumcharge@betfair.com."

No idea what my magic percentage is. They are so stupid because I am only a recreational customer. If they ask me to pay it I will leave simple. I would hate to hold shares in Betfair. They cant put a foot right these days and their long term future looks shakey to say the least.

Premium Charge isn't based on last 3 months or any other time period than your life time on here.  If you had that win/loss ratio over your life time, you would have to pay the charge.

it used to be around 7-15k of winnings before the charge came into effect

Paying the PC might not be seen as something to
worry about, more like a dream, a bit like paying
the top rate of income tax, you have to be earning
it to pay it.

kenilworth, there is some truth in your statement if one is a very good trader that have few losing markets, but PC can be disastrous to a position taker.

Eddie, I agree entirely. I am a position taker and make a
modest profit, most of it taken by commission, something
good traders compensate BF with a PC charge.
