I posted the following on CORRECT SCORE thread and it sets out why I am starting a new thread etc -

Bank been decimated due to my urges to grossly OVER STAKE.....normally when ahead on day....or late at night when probably my energy levels are lowest to make "good" decisions. However, I think there is more to it than just that.
OK ....from £2,000 bank I made a profit of about £ 17,000 up to WORLD CUP and EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP games last year ....then I did my OVER STAKING on matches that were not similar to ones I had generally been betting on PRIOR TO WORLD CUP.
On this thread ( The CORRECT SCORE thread ), from a small bank, I made about £ 4,400 profit .....but then dad took ill over a period of about 3 months and I started to incur losses . I put those losses down to my sleep patterns being disrupted regularly over 3 month period. I made bad decisions, probably mainly down to the circumstances.......though again I think there is more to it!
Was down to just about over £1,300 profit til 2 days ago ....when i grossly OVER STAKED on 2 matches ....and those losses, combined with another 2 smaller HITS were sufficient to put me into a LOSS on thread of £ 304.63.
I do get days where I just PUSH TOO HARD for PROFIT and GROSSLY OVER STAKE on a game.......However, i think I need to try and bet within stricter guidelines.....as well as change my betting strategy , as I know I can GUESS how games might go reasonably well enough to make regular profit.......BUT I WANT TO LAY AT FAR LOWER ODDS THAN THE CS MARKET OFFERS ( GENERALLY), WITH SOME HEDGE ELEMENT TO MY MAIN BET.
The MATCH MARKET is where I believe i can do well on bets, combined with some hedge bets.
Therefore, as this thread ( the CORRECT SCORE thread )is ....or was started specifically aimed at CS MARKET bets.....I see no point in me posting my current strategy here......as will be confusing to anyone daft enough to pop onto thread !!!!!

Using the "new" strategy yesterday I made £ 137.03 PROFIT from starting bank of £158. So I don't expect to make that sort of return every day .......but who knows !!!!
So i will start a new thread ( THIS ONE )for what i am up to now........but what i will post will be VIEWS ON HOW MATCHES MIGHT GO.......BUT I DON'T THINK I WILL POST MY BETS, AS THIS MIGHT BE DAFT IF I AM TO MAKE A GO OF THIS FROM SMALL BANK!

Banik Ostrava v Sparta Prague KO 4.00 pm
BANIK O appear not to have had a serious game since NOVEMBER 2010. Whereas, SP have played a few matches ....including narrowly losing to LIVERPOOL over 2 legs by 1 goal ...... There is a danger SP may react to losing to LIVERPOOL initially in match .....and home team will be keen to try to score early. SP though appear to be a stuffy team ...so might stay 0-0 for while....... I am laying home team, with cover bet on them winning HT/FT ......and backing 0-0 a small amount......and laying DRAW. In effect I am hoping SP will be too match fit and win the game the last 20 mins..... GL with bets. |

BESIKTAS will want to get back to winning ways after getting "gubbed" in UEL game recently..... Home team don't appear to be that good from recent results ...so should be hard for them to win. If home team do win ...they are likely to score first in 1st half.....but I suspect BESIKTAS will score before them. So i have layed HOME team ....and covered lay with back on HOME/HOME. Good luck with your continued Football lay venture. I regularly read up on your (previous) threads. I personally thought you did pretty well when simply laying (one) correct score - as opposed to adding in lots of additional lay/back bets. You would know all your bets and the figures attached to them but from a 'arms length' view I thought this is where you excelled.
Between your horseracing and correct score bets I thought this would keep you busy enough. all the best anyway. |

Hi DFC Good luck on your new venture. I can see why you are changing strategy - I had moderate success with CS laying but was never really comfortable with the liability. I still dabble when I see perceived value and I still think that if you had a big betting bank and balls of steel it is possible to make excellent profit which you have done in the past. The majority of time I am on betfair I scalp small profits in all sorts of markets and withdraw at regular intervals which keeps me motivated. I wish you well my friend - for what its worth I also agree that West Brom are underestimated tonight but I also think AC Milan are overestimated and a lay of Napoli does not appeal. So lay of Milan and Stoke and yes with a view to trade. GL.

Seems to be a time lag before they appear for me to see..... So far I have been "lucky" in my guesses on how games might go over the 2 days....However, for me, it is important I guess "right" frequently.....otherwise i won't make regular profit off FOOTBALL. WD MIS on lays on STOKE and MILAN at start of match.......STOKE one was fine ....but MILAN might have gone astray .....though, with after-timing, MILAN probably just wanted to tire NAPOLI 1st have ....to then go for killer blows 2nd half .....WORKED FOR BOTH OF US THOUGH Bit knackered now....but good start on thread.......( With HORSES I am mainly BACKING ....as LAYING EM WAS KILLING MY BETTING BANK)...................... Decided that the home team really have to open up the 2nd half to try to win match .....and fair chance a goal can come from either team. Therefore have reduced liability a bit on initial lay on home team....( still have the DRAW/AL-H bet in place ).....and layed DRAW profit off a bit....as well as backing 1-1 to cover DRAW position when a goal comes. Just need 1 of em to take the lead 2nd half...and a good profit should be made.....If stays 0-0 ...a small loss will be incurred.
