Hello.

I am geting a company to develop me a website in flash, they design it, they design the logo, they host it and they also do the google add words etc etc.

it costs £500, is it worth it for a full flash website with all the added extras lke logos and that ?

Ive also been told £1100 for a E COMMERCE website with shopping cart etc etc, is that worth it ?

Thank you

£500 !?!  Sounds like you're being scammed to me.

The guy giving you those quotes has spotted you're new to the Internet business and thinks he can pull a fast one.
Is he from Nigeria perhaps ?

If you're wanting someone to do everything for you: designing, developing, hosting, google add's etc etc.....

Most programers could do all that in 5 minutes, maybe 10 max if they're a noob who's to stupid to work at McDonalds.

You should expect to pay about £10 (or £15 max for a real top quality job with lifetime support, upgrades etc) on rentacoder.com

E-Comerce website ? about £15-£25 top whack

Can't speak for the site, etc, because your info doesn't say how much is involved.

However, £1,100 for a shopping cart is a reeediculously high amount.

I'm working with someone where my shopping cart will cost.....£100 for their time.

Rentacoder is very good. They are now called vworker. http://www.vworker.com
You put a job up with the most you'll pay & people put their bids up. You can then look through the jobs they have done and the feedback and choose. It's worldwide, so an Asian programmer will almost certainly do a job, much, much cheaper. Put your jobs up for ca £200 all in max and I bet you'll get loads of bids, probably cheaper than your max price too. If you don't get bids, you can always put it up again at a higher price. Spend time detailing exactly what you want.
