I love spreadsheets. I always have, though I never had much to put in. Then gambling came along to fill the void.
I love recording all the bets with a million different stats, lifetime p/l, weekly, up to date pc calculator, I LOVE putting a number in and watching 10 others update at the same time.
Sometimes I put $5 on a random game, just so i can update my spreadsheet. If they didn't exist I would find gambling much less fulfilling.
If I could marry a spreadsheet I would satisfy its every box with unholy passion

If and when your express deep, enduring love for spreadsheets, it's time I think to call in the shrinks.

Does anyone run Gruss on a "virtual PC". I have a macbook right now for my betting world.
I use it on a imac but in bootcamp mode not in "virtual PC" but I dare say it will work in "virtual"

god, i hate and detest spreadsheets ... they always seem to be full of every kind of function and formula except the one i need, and the help files are written in martian by an illiterate martian geek 
I love creating new spreadsheets, but hate updating them. So I end up best guessing my spreadsheets a few mins before the off. Then I lose, so I decide to update the spreadsheet to see where I went wrong. Usually the spreadsheet comes up with a different answer. Then I don't have enough time to update the spreadsheet before the off, so I end up best guessing...

In a house I once owned I painted an office wall with two tone grey stripes with those black and white gridlines to look like the
current banded tables do in excel, that two dimensional hi-lo look and my youngest son being a graphic artist painted some
scientific formulas in the rows that I never understood but it looked great.

I have never done a spreadsheet in my life. Am I missing out?

I would agree with all that, gus, and yet i still kinda like them.

well, that's the other thing ... i'm reasonably good at MySql and i always start off a spreadsheet thinking 'oh, it'll be quicker than making a new table and writing Sql queries, but it always takes about twice as long in the end + it makes me feel guilty for not doing the job 'properly'.
Spreadsheets are a poor substitute for original thought.
They are very good for proving what is already known and obvious.
But I'm only jealous of those capable of using them expertly.

Actually I suck with computers and can't do anything more than basic formulas, a3 = a1 + a2
And I don't use them for analysing past results of matches, just for recording my bets

I love league tables too. So long as the number columns are right justified.

The great thing about spreadsheets is it takes about 5 minutes to prove (mathematically) that I've just had a rubbish idea. I have a filing cabinet of rubbish ideas. But not all of my ideas are rubbish.

I don't use it to place bets very often, mostly use it to update prices from their spreadsheet to
my spreadsheet. As the prices change on my sheet, if the prices go over the price I have predetermined is
value my selections turn blue if the price goes below mine the selection turns yellow and if there is no value
or the price is out of my range it turns the selections red and the stakes change accordingly.

LOL its only the stakes column that changes which is 1 of about 40 columns

It is a safe macro free 2007 excel sheet.
It is the same horse selection method that I used in "Tosh" only the staking has changed.

If you love spreadsheets then pivot tables must really drain all the blood from your head. Pivot tables rock.
i dearly love my longterm spreadsheet and hope she never finds out about the cheeky macro i have been seeing on the side.

Infact, I have similar "pretty colour" alerts custom built right now. Little automation. Just keeping an eye on things.
I, too, use blue since "green" in the betting world often puts the kibosh on a bet before its placed!
