I have started trading on these markets and wondered what other people did with regard trading out. I had a really good trade on Birmingham on the relegation market and after yesterdays result it is now a small loss.
Do people who trade in these markets  ever slowly trade out i.e once a price has moved a certain amount one way, put a bet out to half their liability etc.

Or do you set a target price in your mind and if it hits that trade out no matter what? Or just nay advice in general if you want would be appreciated

For what it's worth I tend not to touch these markets as they are too long term. I personally would feel that my money would be put to better use trading a series of games than have it tied up in this market until I decided to trade out. That's just my opinion though.

Like U.A., rarely touch short of a flutter.

I do know that any time I have made money, I have either Laid or Back then left a position up and taken advantage of a spike in the market.

Also, using the Sun Sports section is excellent since they usually start declaring who is going to win and who is going to be relegated in September or October [;)]

What do you mean by trading a series of games, if you see my example here - I looked at a run of fixtures for Birmingham and fancied that there price would come in dramatically so backed to lay.

Only really stated dabbling so maybe it’s not the best market to trade in.

I trade these markets quite a lot. Although not soccer.

I like the fact they go up and down for reasons that are quickly forgotten.

pxb, which markets do you trade? I quite enjoy the relegation market but feel gutted that I missed out on a good opp by letting it run too long.

SquirrelJ - If you enjoyed trading football matches then say if you had £100 in the relegation market for 30 days before trading out do you think that you would make more than using that £100 and trading 30 football games (i've averaged 1 game per day here).

For me the answer is no which is why i wouldn't dabble in them.

U.A, I see your point, I do trade in play but to be honest I was trying to increase my areas of betting. I have found over the years that I have started to get good in certain areas and then I try and expand into new areas, to hopefully make up for bad runs etc in other areas so I can keep a constant level of POT.

I have setup a seperate bank for the relegation trading, I think it has the potential to be a profitable market for me, but only time will tell, I guess I will just have to gain some more experince in price movemnts etc before i can be sure I can make it work.
