Thanks but if you trading in-play on football and a goal goes against the trade your screwed so could be left with a severe loss.
Say for instance you've got a 100 point bank and you trade with say 10 points. What do people try and achieve per trade?
As I said, I'm clueless to trading :-(

yeah gambler thats not trading..trading is as an example backing chelsea pre match at 1.58, when theres a lot of money stacking up to wade into the blues...you then look to lay off asap at 1.56 perhaps..and so on ad finitum

What JG is describing there is trading. It's just that the nature of football is such that IR trading involves, temporarily, taking rather large positions relative to stake size (because the market can move massively against you instantly) - unlike, say, pre-KO trading.

Trading inplay is more like gambling for short periods of time, it's playing with fire but obviously can work for some people.
Tip: don't do it on spanish games, they're known to be prone to 'hoovering'.

In the past, maybe, but not anymore. I trade the Spanish games with slow pics (Sky) and have no problems with hoovering (unless you mean small market moves around free kicks, etc.)

I would advise determining your edge whilst trading first before you think about any kind of staking strategy. Keep stakes relatively low until you have made sure that you have a strategy that works. Then take it from there.
