Why do you shop at Tesco's? I thought that was common knowledge they are not the cheapest supermarket.

They aren't Jimmy ,that's a fact
By:
Eejit, there is one huge difference between BF and the financial sector
In the financial sector people are getting rewarded for risking other peoples money. On BF people are getting rewarded for risking their own money. |
By:
..plus ,he fails to mention that traders on here have to buy their own stripey jackets

And,
Name any exchange or equivalent where the exchange owner takes a bite out of succesful traders profits. * There aren't any, except BF. Otherwise, the poster above who said BF wanted the risks of an exchange with the profit margins of a bookmaker, nailed it. |
By:
In fact Eejit,
BF are the equivalent of the city traders, because both make unjustifiable financial gains from others risking their money. |
By:
Froggie, when hear the word 'fair', I know someone is trying to rip me off and they can't think of any justification for it.
By:
I blame the woeful modern education system for the fact 90% of people have no idea markets that only work when people risk capital for profit.
Risk being the operative word. |

Anybody know when PC first started, and did betfair give an explanation as to why they introduced it.Has anyone questioned them and recieved a reply.I know why I pay income tax from my full time very working class job(to pay Eejits imcome support).National insurance(to pay Eejits free prescriptions.he must be on something).I know all the maths.they go into great detail on the website of all the people that wont get charged PC,but not one word explaining why they are charging PC
By:
Because they are the only game in town .
By:
flashbang, I think PC was introduced first time late summer or early fall 2008 and if asked Betfair says the reason for it is that the consistant winner drains the system for money at a too fast pace and Betfair need more money to advertise for more new (losing) customers. They then say that they think the best way to get that money is to take it from those customers who are consistant winners.
This is imo BS of the highest order, but it is what Betfair says. |

Ah, the usual burgomeister / torched villagers response without a single attempt at addressing the post that shows them up for the total calimero clowns that they are.
What is it about traders that make them think they're so important that the rest of us should pay for the running of the site while they get to operate virtually commission free. Their attitude is identical to that of the parasitic sc.um in the financial sector who are getting pay rises and huge bonuses while the rest of the country pays for their mistakes. Suppose they deducted 22.5% of your lifetime profit as a running total making deductions / rebates after each market was settled and then each Wednesday they calculated what you would've paid under the old system and, if that was greater than what you'd already paid, docked the difference from your account (i.e. they're swapping over the normal and premium charge deduction times). Then 1) Everyone would pay more or less what they do now 2) The Ferengi wouldn't have a Wednesday payment 3) Almost all gamblers would have a Wednesday payment 4) Gamblers would be up in arms at having to subsidise the mainly worthless Ferengi. 5) The only people who wouldn't be whinging would be the Ferengi. Can any pc calimero please tell us why the gamblers should have to make this wednesday payment? Would giving those NOT being charged on the wednesday a rebate of 75% of their previous week's commission be a solution to the above injustice? If you think so then you need treatment. Under the old system if you had 100 backs at 1.1 and they all won and I had 100 backs at 110.0 and one won, we'd both have the same turnover and gross profit but I'd be expected to pay up to 11 times the commission you would. The premium charge doesn't even go far enough to address that injustice as those paying it are still paying a lower percentage of their profits in commission than all other long term betfair winners. |
By:
The all new liquidity generating Premium Charge = (GrossProfit - 5 * CommissionGenerated) / 2
Coming to an exchange near you soon. Codename = BleedTheLeechesDry. |
By:
is there anyway of finding out what percentage of people are really on the premium charge.other than phoning one of those robots who quote from a script, betfair go on about transparency all the time.
By:
The last time I asked they said such figures were in their annual reports.
By:
I think Betfair define an active account as one where at least one bet was placed in the last year.
By:
Next year soon to be changed to anyone thinking of having a bet too lol.
By:
Only kiddin.
By:
Do you think active customers include those too busy complaining on the forum as to ever be free to place a bet ?
Or even those too busy defending BF also ? Not that Mgt or I would ever fall into either of those respective camps of course. |
By:
Well The Management might but you wouldn't Froggy

Of course.
But I do know that Mgt. can double task. So don't write him off that easily. He'll bite you in the bum if you do. He's a pit bull. |

Not perfect Mgt, but alo not hell bent on ripping us off at every turn.

I don't think it's perfect but I rather prefer to see the positive side of things.

I can't believe the number of people who are clever enough to make money here and yet cannot grasp the simple concept of a minimum amount of commission that betfair take from winning accounts.
By:
Or why they complain about paying the minimum.
By:
And you have been here for 5 months and understand everything about the PC ?
By:
Mgt
Sometimes it's the only way to make a point. But you're right in that it weakens my case in general. I will try to restrain myself in the future, in the same way that you are trying to give up the ****. 40 days and 40 nights for starters ? |

PC Wednesday and a whopping near 20% deducted on profits.Ive curtailed my activity on the exchanges the last fortnight and concentrated on the poker.Done quite well, nice profit and looking forward to a healthy fat rakeback tomorrow.Funny that, successful and destoying all the little fish and they give me money back.Wonder why? , could it be if they charged PC on poker all there successful poker players would go to one of the numerous other sites.Come on betfair,be fair PC benefits no one, loosers and Eejits dont benefit, small amount of winners dont benefit, and betfair ive curtailed my activity, its bad publicity, dont state in your advertisements, you dont care who wins when you clearly do.In previous posts I awarded betfair the gold trophy for being the best thing for punters in my lifetime, now I award you the wooded spoon,20% deduction on profits the highest in my lifetime.Come out all you Eejits and betfair a*** lickers defend them,I could do with a laugh.P.S sorry for the rant I felt a red mist descend upon me.Oh no its not red I THINK ITS PURPLE
