Anybody rob a bank to raise their bank ?
Now that would be an interesting story to hear. |
By:
The Eastcastle Street robbery was, at the time, Britain's largest postwar robbery. It occurred on Wednesday 21 May 1952 when seven masked men held up a post office van just off Oxford Street, London. The robbers escaped with £287,000 (2010: £6,150,000).
The robbers used two cars to sandwich the van. The first car emerged slowly from a side street causing the van to slow down, the second car then pulled up alongside. The driver and two attendants were dragged out and coshed and the van was stolen. It was later found abandoned near Regents Park; 18 of the 31 mailbags were missing. It was found that the van's alarm bell had been tampered with. The robbery heralded the start of the `project' (ie carefully planned and executed) crime. The mastermind behind the raid was London gangster, Billy Hill and the robbers included George "Taters" Chatham and Terry Hogan. Prime minister, Winston Churchill, demanded daily updates on the police investigation and the Postmaster General, Earl de la Warr, was required to report to the Parliament of the United Kingdom on what had gone wrong. Yet, despite the involvement of over 1,000 police officers, no one was ever caught. |

Dunno about btfr forumites( none ever lose on here, apparently)
but here's a selection of how some rich folk on racecourses got their wealth in the first place: *Inherited land or business ( if it pays, they keep it, otherwise, they sell and spend the lolly on racing, among other things) * Sport or Pop star with fantastic income *Good redundancy pay off from high income job *Crime, esp drugs *Restaurants and Clubs * Transport companies and Machinery dealing *Other sources Few of these increase their starting bank significantly, imo, but they enjoy the lifestyle and don't care a fk. Nice, imo. On here, they start with 2 quid and end up with £2million+, bc they're smart and know the value of compounding. Not so nice, bc it must be time-consuming and boring, but good luck to them anyway. |

The way in which you talk about yourself as in the third person, is plain weird, and smacks of a self-importance need - not to mention attention seeking.
|
By:
If you’re trading, you don’t need a large bank. If you’re good, you’ll expand.
|
By:

By:
Marky Sparky a very good question just depends on your comfy zone . Some guys would be happy with say £200 on the winner other guys would say £2000 is a waste of time ,the real answer is some where in between
|
By:
The Management you are so wrong .. no bank is too big to fail . Lloyds were in big trouble until the government propped them up for billions. Replace the government by the public who's cash it is & I could give you other examples that would have gone the same way ,if not for public money ,if you dont know what your doing no bank can help you
|
By:
The Management Take this to your friends In The City Mr Management Your a Dick Head What Part of that you dont understand
Maybe your smart arse mates in the city could russle up a reasonable answer between you .. but i doubt it now clear off |

The easiest way to make a small fortune on Betfair is to start with a large one!
|
By:
Started with about £100,000,now got fxxk all,on a IVA so my advice is dont bet...Unless you are A)extremely clever b)Have inside info. C)Bet stakes small enough that it is just bit of fun and doesnt affect you family...
|
By:
how did you procure 100k?
|
By:
Not totally true,i have lost about £100,000,i had about £10k at one stage on here,my most successful period was when i followed the FCG(FOOTBALL CASH GENERATOR) system which im sure many of you have heard of,i was either extremely lucky or it does work,i think i was lucky and made about £4.5k in about 6 weeks and then lost £3k of it in a couple of days and i then quit that scheme as i realised its flaws,my biggest bet ever was £5k on Arsenal to win the premier league about 10 years ago at 1.99,i closed the bet of after they had won their first 7 games i think and had a guaranteed £1.5k profit but had to wait till May to get it(ironically Chelsea won the League)I have never had any discipline and that was my downfall, also no Bankroll management,i now have £40 in my account and play Poker only,no other betting..I have made £80k on my house however mortgaged that to the hilt and ran up £75k on credit cards so betting doesnt really pay(not 4 me anyway) however as long as i got a hole in my arse i will do it,just have to control it the best i can now...
