Deposited £100, they added a £20 bonus to my account (which only hit my bankroll when alreadt £64 in profit). I build bankroll to £200 including their measley £20, cash out, but wait... Cashout is rejected after 2 days because I apparently used their magnificent bonus to play with and that money needs to be played through 40 times (and roulette only counts for 10% of this play through, so it is effectively 400 times).

So 8.8.8 expect me to either play £8,000 worth of roulette (basic math suggests I will be well in to -ve figures if I play even bets to the tune of £8,000), or to give up the winnings that I clearly risked my own money to get.

Is there some independent gaming commisson or someone that isn't an 8.8.8 robot who insists I read their 40 pages of small print. They're meant to be a reputable casino ffs!

Any advice welcome :)

All casinos act this way with regard to bonuses, or else they'd be skint from people who just sign up to get them and never use them again. Learn your lesson, just withdraw your original stake and don't get caught out again.

Get caught out? I gambled my own £100 up to £164 before any bonus was added. The bonus makes it virtually impossible to win. What is the point?

"The bonus makes it virtually impossible to win"

Yeah, that's why they do it. Plain
Report Look At Curlin Go January 23, 2011 11:21 PM GMT
Ok, so you too are ignoring the fact that the £20 bonus didn't become part of my bankroll until I had already made £64 gambling my own money (this is reflected in the official history).

Anyone have real advice? I should be able to recover at least £64 profit right? Surely you lot should be on the punter's side!?

Surely you lot should be on the punter's side!?

We've all been there, done it, got the tee shirt and accepted it about 11 years ago when all this crap started.

If you want to try, go to their site, see who the regulator is, pray it's not the UK gaming commission or the KGC and then write to them with your grievance.

You could also try SBR or casinomeister.

Then, after all that, give up.

You could also try making an effigy of the owners of the original Golden Palace and stick pins in it as they're the ones who invented the term "Bonus Abuse"

Just so you know you're not the first. Might make you feel happier to know these guys got done out of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars and only got their stakes back.

But I am an honest customer, my account reflects that. I deposit money, gamble it on their weighted tables, and withdraw the winnings. They have trapped me with an impossible playthrough from a £20 bonus despite me depositing £100. I don't want an unsuitable bonus.
Report DaveEdwards January 24, 2011 12:18 AM GMT
mate, do yourself a favour. Get your stake back out & never touch them again.

Personally I've never used one of these things, but a friend of mine has. He had a similar situation to yourself except that he built up a much larger amount. Can't remember the name of the casino, but he got absolutely nowhere.

It's a stitch up. Get your stake out & put it down to experience.
Report Lori January 24, 2011 12:22 AM GMT
Nobody has said you're not an honest customer. Try the places I mentioned, then give up before you go nuts.
Report turtleshead January 24, 2011 12:34 AM GMT
I've given you some real advice. All these companies operate a simmilar system whereby you have to play through a bonus a huge number of times before it can be withdrawn. It's completely standard, and is in their terms and conditions which I guess you didn't bother to read.

Like I say, take your money back, put it down to experience, and don't use online casinos again! You could even try gambling the remainder to see if you can clear the bonus once that has happened.
Report Trevh January 24, 2011 1:12 AM GMT
LACG, like the others have said, the terms of the bonus are there to read. I used to refuse the bonus when I played live online casinos because it meant I wouldn't be allowed to withdraw until my balance had been churned enough for them to have the edge, whereas I would want to withdraw if I got lucky early on.

Single zero roulette has a house edge of 2.7% so the bonus terms will require you to turnover the balance enough times for them to retrieve the bonus.
Report Look At Curlin Go January 24, 2011 1:21 AM GMT
But the bonus was not applied to the account when most of the winnings were accumulated... Surely this is a special case? The only money being risked was mine, therefore the winnings should be mine, even if you take the smallest of their small print in to consideration!

Their only argument is that the bonus money is dipped in to first, but I had the lady on the phone umming and arring when she realised the bonus hadn't been played at all. She resorted to reading her robot text about having to play the bonus through 400 times despite acknowledging I had won fair and square risking my own money. The remaining play through in their cashout failure e-mail even meant that the bonus hadn't been played with! Contradicting themselves left, right, and centre.

Don't worry, I won't be going anywhere near these cheating swines again, was literally 7 spins of the live roulette wheel to see how functional it was. Very glad it's for a relatively small amount, but I will definitely be chasing this up even if it means e-mailing every day for the next 5 years.

If my 7 spins had resulted in a loss?

Imagine the same treatment in a real casino? Disgusting scenes!
Report Trevh January 24, 2011 1:31 AM GMT
Did you tick the box accepting the bonus, or untick it if it's given as standard procedure?
Report Look At Curlin Go January 24, 2011 1:49 AM GMT
It was added to my account by a lady in a pop up box after I had deposited the £100. I assumed it was a good spirited bonus seeing as I had just deposited £100 without seeking out any bonus...
Report Look At Curlin Go January 24, 2011 1:51 AM GMT
(It was added manually by an operator who didn't explain the terms etc. Just said it was a £20 free bonus... Very shady and completely unethical, even for a casino).
Report Lori January 24, 2011 10:27 AM GMT
Nobody is disagreeing with your view, just that we've all been there and got over it a decade ago. If you want someone to say you're morally right, well of course you are. Welcome to the world of online gambling

Again, email the relevant gaming commission, email SBR and Casinomeister, hassle 88.8 support a couple more times and then give up. If you really want to have a seethe/laugh, you could tweet Shane Warne a few times too

There's a tiny chance you get your money back, so I don't want to put you off entirely - especially as it's a small sum, you might get lucky and get them to pay you to shut you up, however the most likely end result is you go slightly crazy.
Report Lori January 24, 2011 10:33 AM GMT
Oh, and _tell them_ you're emailing SBR and Casinomeister. They'll be more scared of sites like that than the gaming commissions.
Report getting better January 24, 2011 10:56 AM GMT
What happens if you do nothing for 90 days and let the bonus expire? Surely then they can't
steal your winnings so you will be OK?
Report Look At Curlin Go January 24, 2011 12:00 PM GMT
I don't know, and looking at the way I've been treated thus far, I wouldn't be surprised if my account suddenly vanishes without trace or something like this.

Will do Lori, thanks.

Take it to the small claims court.

They'll either pay you out in full before the case gets there or the court will find in your favour.

Its your money, plus you won money, thats your money, The small claims court will see it this way.

Only cost a few bob to sue in the small claims court and its a very satisfying feel when you win.

Your local court will likely be very helpful with filling out the form.

Get stuck in. No need to take it up the gary glitter in a case like this.
