replay video capture & other software will record directly from the screen. The vids will not run completely smoothly though.
wm recorder will record the atr races (in a download manner), but will not record the ruk ones, which are in flash format.
why record them at all, when atr vids are free to view and ruk ones are also free on sporting life and b365 websites?

I use Cam Studio. It captures from the screen and saves as an AVI.

The AVI files can be a bit large, especially for NH races,so I use Windows Movie Maker(free from Windows Live) to convert to WMV.

It's not exactly HD but not too bad really.

The screen recording software will not normally do a great job on the flash videos in my experience. They are normally pretty jumpy.
Why record the races at all, now that they are available on the above websites?

Stow,

Yes you're right about the quality. It's not fantastic.

I use the free sources for form study nowadays but like to record some of my winners to hard drive for posterity if I've been unable to record it live.
It also helps during a bad run if only to prove to myself that I can back the odd winner.Laugh

Thing is,how long will RUK allow their archives to be viewed free ?.
The RP charge 20p per race IIRC,so how do they expect to make money from that when SL & 365 show them for nothing?.

I'd assume sp life & b365 are paying ruk to allow their users to watch them free. I'd guess this is uk only and overseas punters are paying to view archived races.
