The question is a bit hard to answer because anyone winning at 5% is likely not maximizing their profits.
It's probably possible to win at 50% if you're willing to bet £2 about twice a month. (I managed to win at 15% today by being in the right place at the right time, but it's probably a twice a year occurence and for small money)
The "best" will be betting the 1-2% edges as well as the big ones.

I'm trying to work out if there's any more in the tank.
If I'm doing say on average 3000 bets a week, putting a total of just under £200K at risk, with a return on risk of 3.76%, how does that compare with the big boys?

having 3000 bets a weeks is alot..so 3.76% sounds like your doing a very good job...but how much do you think your return on risk would be if you 10 times you risk each week?

If you could bet another £1000 at 1% you would right?
It would however lower your return on risk, that's why the question is hard to answer. You could cancel your lower return bets and raise your percentage if you wanted, but you'd win less money, so it would be silly.

That's a good question. I know that the market liquidity will not sustain 10 times the stakes, I've tried it, and my unmatched begins to climb alarmingly, with profitability falling away. So as I see it the only way to squeeze more out is to improve the edge. But I'm thinking 3-4% may be the limit averaged out on that sort of volume.
