If I have a 100 point bank what %age would you recomend I stake for each bet. I may have 10 or more bets going at a time so a 5% stake could leave half or more of my bank at risk. Its a similar system to one I used before on current form with a few minor adjustments but I'm spreading it over other leagues now, so I don't want to be over staking. This is just under test when I start so not for great amounts until it a proven winner [:)] . I'm going to check the outcomes to my predicted value of each bet, but won't be using this to alter my stake unless there's seen to be a clear advantage, thanks jimjohn.

10 bets going at the same time seems a lot, and in
my experience I can usually find a backable pick
perhaps one in twenty, so wonder how you find 10 in one day.
I can't imagine you have much 'edge' but perhaps you
are an inspired guesser. GL.

It was staking advice I was after, rather than weather anyone thought I was an 'inspired guesser'or not.

I used to get 2 or 3 in the prem so this is just an estimate.

Thanks anyway.

Just stay off the Dutch league tonight 15/10.
Unless you only bet on overs that is.

What kind of staking can anyone do when 10 bets
at the same time ? Only levels, perhaps to 5% of
your pot per bet.
Report brendanuk1 • October 15, 2010 10:15 PM BST
some people see value everywhere some see none. Wouldnt see why OP a guesser just because he has 10 bets on the go.

i dont see why number of bets on the go simultaneously should affect staking at all. 5% is too much for 1 by itself or 20 together imo

If your worried you might lose a good proportion of your bank in 1 day then your probably staking to much.
Start of small and take it from there and take the worry of going bust out of the equation while you find out if your getting value or not first.

brendan, everytime you think you have 'value' you are saying
the market is wrong, well I agree, but I also think the market
don't get it wrong that often. If I find one bet in 20 I am
happy, cos I know the market is agreeing with me on the other
19, and that tells me I'm doing things right. Have respect for
the market.GL.

And remember getting the value right doesn't mean getting the result right.
It's getting the value right over a long series of bets when, as a result, you should just win more than you lose. Not a lot more, but enough to come out ahead after commission.
It's a grind doing pure value betting. Or it should be if it is being done right. That is taking all the emotion out of the equation and never doing any fun, impulse type bets. You will have long boring losing streaks just like everybody else, but your good value should compensate for these in the long run. I emphasize in the long run.
Report kenilworth • November 2, 2010 12:02 AM GMT
You may not have control over the result, but you do have
control over your bet. That should be the diff between
winning and losing.

Absolutely.

FIRST 6 BETS 1PT LEVEL,IF LOSS NEXT 6 BETS 2PTS IF STILL LOSS,NEXT 6 3PTS,OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT
