I would wait a while as there are some screen problems reported depending on which graphic card is installed. Check with the mac forum on http://www.macrumors.com/ for latest info.
IMO they are great and not that expensive.

My earlier Imacs no, my latest some slight yellow bands only noticeable when either a very light screen looking at blogs or pictures that are a light colour. This forum shows them up if you look for them, in other words when you think about them.

Hi frames. Don`t have an iMac myself but swear by Apple for speed, reliability and ease of use, which is obviously what we`re after for what we do. My setup has two Macbook Pros (their top-end laptop) side-by-side, each plugged into an external monitor for 4-screen action, since the US golf has so much to look at at once.
Obviously you do pay a premium for Apple over PC - some people think this is just for style / brand name, but especially after a year or two`s use you really notice the difference in speed and reliability in my opinion.

Imac's are a great way to have a very fast but portable set up. You literally stick 'em on a desk and plug the power lead in and you're away. Great screens imv. PC users will try and defend pc's all day long but Mac's p1ss over pc's in just about every area.
