A good start to the thread.......bad luck SoC731, you need to polish that crystal ball.
Two Mystics have predicted the future tonight, lets see how they fare. My money's down.
Freddie Williams would you like to become a Mystic tomorrow? Post your nap by 12pm.
IQMJ was a distant ego, from what I remember he was struggling to get to grips with this betting lark. Then suddenly he changed his name and everything became simpler.

today's Mystic Meg is a guy called 'Kenny doomed' off the horse racing forum. He has claimed to have 17 winning lays in a row. Now he has kindly broadcasted today's selections. He has looked into the future and seen these 5 horses all lose. I shall be taking him on by betting each selection in a martingale style in the hope that if one wins i will be 60 up. I shall stop betting as soon as one romps home hence denting his ego. At his quoted prices, if all horses go on to lose..... my hat will go off to this kenny fella and I will lose around 236.

So after a succession of unsuccessful threads you have started a thread that is reliant on someone elses thread not doing well.
A strange vortex you have created.
The irony will be when this thread is followed by someone else who decides to do what you are doing.

I'm taking on tracksuitdave again on the horse racing forum. He says the 8.50 race at Epsom is a two horse race between Space Station and Admire The View. I've had a quick look at the card and it is a six-runner race. Two at the prices look like no-hopers, so I have bet the other two in the hope that Dave's crystal ball is still a little hazy.

I'm taking on a couple of Mystics in the 3.45 race at Yarmouth. One mystic called dukes claims to have inside info and another mystic called guesser is pointing out the trainer's strike-rate. They both advise us to be on the same horse, it's fav but you know what to do.

I shall also be playing a Martingale on this Willie guy, where if he scores a winner a shall lay his next selection for a 1000 liability in the hope this mystic will NOT score a quick-fire double. If he does I'm screwed and this small bank will be blown to pieces. Have a glorious Goodwood, I know I will thanks to mystic Willie.

thread's just a bit of fun shapey... I'm loaded after WC and working hard in real World so I really couldn't care less win or lose here
no time for detailed form study or market watching at the minute as I'm too busy. So just punting on football like the good ol days and enjoying it. This thread was an idea brought about by a post I made in winners don't share thread.

btw OVERSTAKING and working hard is how you become loaded. I haven't worked out my WC profit/loss to level stakes, % of bank crap. Have a gamble, get stuck in. It's healthy sometimes if you are in good form. As long as it's your spare money and all bills are paid you are not hurting anyone.

Perhaps it's my background of putting on shows and festivals where I was "gambling" tens and hundreds of thousands but any time I blew my capital, it set me back weeks or months.
I agree on ramping it up when you see the play but there are never any guarantees of a return and the potential of a loss.
But as one of my mentors told me, a big gamble and win is talked about for months. A big gamble and loss affects you for even longer both in your budget and decision making.

This is all fiction, anyways freddie. The boy smokes cigars but only blows smoke.
Any times he's tried any serious analysis or picks, he gains a bit then loses it, stakes wildly and disappears for weeks.
Nothing to learn from his threads or IQMJ except the art of the chase which always ends in the red.

all these bets are real my sesame friends....when the punters win they stake more the next day, they think they are invincible. Understand? No mystics today I'm too busy.

This betting game....I studied the game long and hard all last year to try and find a way of earning consistent profits and failed in the main. I work 55 hours a week in the real World with hardly any time spent on research and I win. I think there can be a case sometimes of trying too hard.
These mystics....they spend one hour, two hours, 2 weeks on a game. What's the point they still in lap of Gods. Lay em till the cow's come home is what I say.
No need to seethe Shapeshifter this is danish krone bank. You need 5.5 dkk to buy one canadian dollar so calm down.
You can boll ock me now though when I tell you I had 5000 dkk on Brøndby but I only have 10000 dkk in my bank. I just couldn't resist, my crystal ball was shining yellow and blue all week....I kept having more on every day, all my tips went on Brøndby.
If I'd have lost, would it matter? No. All bills are paid, plenty of beer money, holiday paid for with WC winnings. A good old gamble is healthy sometimes, it gets the blood pumping.
I'l play small stakes now all month....I'm guaranteed to be winning come aug 31st, do you understand? Prices are right most of the time, level stakes....1pt, 2pt whats the point....ramp it up as you like to say, buý something with winnings and enjoy life.......peace
any mystics today?
very true MuqbilThis betting game....I studied the game long and hard all last year to try and find a way of earning consistent profits and failed in the main. I work 55 hours a week in the real World with hardly any time spent on research and I win.
Hey Freddie, juggling a sched with shapeshifter jr out of school now.
Essentially I have to "mentors" that have given me advice over the years. One is a gentleman here who is essentially full-time as a gambler. He makes most of his money on in-running. His set-up is pretty extraordinary (I nick-named it the "Enterprise"). Far beyond bfexporer, gruss, etc. Designed to make transition from placing a position to then trading/hedging a breeze. Graphs and signals to help make decisions are there. Custom-made "warnings" that if they come up, you simply hit F12 and macros take over to get you out of a corner.
Tech aside, he taught me alot about trading in-running as well as positioning for in-running for football. Speed, to him, is not the key to making money. It was a common point we have which is I look at in-running, hedging, etc, like a chess match where it is more important to position your pieces rather than constantly try to go for checkmate.
The other is someone in the States that is part of a betting forum I belong to (not public, through a mate of mine). I'm one of the few people outside the states (maybe a dozen in all) who also understands U.S./Canadian Sports. He's old skool and basically helped me with the psychology of betting, getting past some barriers, as well as making me better understand how to research sports. He also helped me better my criteria for the long-list each day then creating another list of criteria for the shortlist.
I've also developed an approach for staking through advice from both of them that suits my approach to selection, betting, etc. Obviously success comes down to strike-rate and ROI but staking takes the pressure off of some of the decision making.
The common point we had is I look at betting like boxing: Each bet is a jab then everyone once in a while you calculate your moment and go for the bigger punch but keeping in mind you are in it for the entire match. But the "bigger punch" doesn't mean putting down a ton on your bank. It can mean following a team and then finding the two or three games in a row to bet with or against them. It can also mean researching a match then putting several bets down on the event rather than just the final result (not talking hedging but looking at all the bets on offer and finding value).
Muqbil said it: we never stop learning. Several times over the years I have hit "walls" that feel like burn-out. I'm not talking about losing streaks. More about mind-melts where you go through the motions so much that there is no drive, no thrill on a good day, not even kicking yourself for a "stupid mistake", etc.
Working with both these people through last year returned me to tapping into the same feeling I had when I played golf and came off the course feeling fantastic about the day or if after a bad round, figure it out and go right back out on the course rather than dwelling on the past.
All in all, betting is alot more enjoyable and the returns seem to be reflected in the enjoyment I am getting out of the game.
