Please could someone with knowledge on this matter please tell me what is the best software programme to automatically place bets that will stay in place when the race is off.

ie, i want to be able to put up a price to lay every horse at a certain price, just downloaded BetBot Pro only to find out it doesnt allow bets to be kept after the off, ie in running

Hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance

I use MarketFeeder pro, that would definitely do it. I'm sure there are other and possibly cheaper options.

Unfortunately all these systems are a bit like that. If you can give me some idea (without revealing too much) of what you want to do I will try and help.

OK

The first thing you need to do is set the system up.

1. Download software
2. Open software and login
3. Click on settings (top right hand corner)
3.1 On "General" tab un tick "Request confirmation for every critical operation"
3.2 "Betting Options" tab un tick "Enable one-click betting"
4. Ensure "Test Mode is ON" button (top right) is Green
5. On right hand side top, click all markets tab. At the bottom tick "UK races" and click "GO". This should load today's UK card.

Report back when done and then we'll do the trigger
Report Artisan April 14, 2010 1:14 PM BST
Sorry, should be a Step 3.3 which is to click the "aave" at the bottom of the "Settings" window and close (click top right "x")

Ok, we're going to down load a trigger from their site. go to
http://www.marketfeederpro.com/solutions/trigger-example/miscelaneous-betting/lay-all-1_01/

Where it say right click to down load, RIGHT click and save to C: drive, Program Files, MarketFeederPro 6

And report back
Report hugh jardon April 14, 2010 3:28 PM BST
all going fine untill i get to save to c;drive, its shows -save target as, when i click that it goes to Nick-downloads,
I have clicked that ???
Report SHAPESHIFTER April 14, 2010 3:32 PM BST
hugh, all the systems offer free trials. Try them all out.

for bfexplorer, the guy who runs it, stefan, is very often on -line live to walk you through.

There is a "demo mode" so you don't kill your bank trying it out.
Report Artisan April 14, 2010 3:36 PM BST
When you right click on it and "save target as" , a window comes up "Save as". At the top of that window where it says "Save in:" click on the down arrow to navigate to firstly, C; drive, then to Programe Files, and then to Marketfeeder Pro 6
Report hugh jardon April 14, 2010 3:53 PM BST
ok, appreciate your patience with all this but when i get local disc(C)--programme files--marketfeederpro, it says you cant save in this location ???
Report Artisan April 14, 2010 4:12 PM BST
ot sure what's going on there. Let's do it differently.

1. Double check Test Mode button is on and green.
2. Click "Triggers" top right it should be pretty much blank.
3. Click "Add Block"
4. Click "Add Trigger"
5. Do the following selections:
5.1 "Repeat Block" - Just Once
5.2 "Action" - Lay
5.3 "Markets" - which ever markets you want, if it's Horses win markets select "Win Markets"
5.4 "Market Status" - Not In-Play"
5.5 "Execute" - Once per Selection
5.6 "Price" - what ever price you want to lay at
5.7 "Selections" - All Selections
5.8 "Amount" - the amount you want to Lay
5.9 "At In-Play" - Keep
6. Save and close the window
7. Pick a race on the left hand side and start monitoring it should place the bets - these will be in test mode so will not enter the real market

Report back

Report Artisan April 14, 2010 4:30 PM BST
It should have placed the bets already - can you not see them?
Report hugh jardon April 14, 2010 4:39 PM BST
ok race over on betfair screen,
nothing happened on marketfeederpro page, actuall still shows it as race not gone off yet,

Very confused now
Report Artisan April 14, 2010 5:04 PM BST
You have to start the market refreshing. For the next race, bring up the race and click the Blue Arrow top right. The price should start to change immediately.
Report hugh jardon April 14, 2010 5:14 PM BST
AhHa, that looks a bit more like it as i can see bets now.

am i to assume that to set this running on the remaining uk races today i just tick the relevant boxes in the races list
Report Artisan April 14, 2010 5:31 PM BST
There are a number of ways you can set the markets running. But you need to be very careful about how you do this, because if you fire them all up simultaneously with a fast refresh rate you run a real risk of incurring BF data charges. Perhaps the best way for you to do this, given that you just want to place the bets before you go to work, is to down load the cards first thing. You can do this by either individually clicking the boxes for the races you want on the "All Markets" tab, or if you want to do all the UK and/or Irish races for the day you can down them all by ticking the relevant boxes in the bottom left hand side and hitting "GO"

The select the "My Markets" tab and at the bottom tick "All Markets" and click "Start Markets" and once the bets are on (after a few seconds) tick "Stop Markets". You can go to the usual betfair site and check that all the bets have been placed. I suggest you do this until you get familiar with all of the features.

MAKE SURE you do not go to work with the markets refreshing, they must be stopped, or you will get a bill.

If you click the "Test Mode off" so it goes red, click on the "triggers" button, click on "save" and close, it will now send your bets directly into the exchange. Note the market must refresh to place the bet.

Hugh

No problem, I wont to lay every horse at a certain price (EG 1.8) to be able to enter the bets in the morning and go to work . I would want these bets to be kept in running

Be careful of this as your '1.80' price might well be reduced due to non-runners - either withdrawn in the morning or as tonight at Kempton, just before the race started. I had 3 bets at different prices all on 'lay the field' in this race and had to cancel them all and re-input.

Some very helpful advice for you from artisan here.

FWIW, I use Gruss and find it really easy.
I don't know about the other systems but Gruss allows you place bets below the minimum which is very useful when testing systems. One months free trial and then £ 6 per month.
There are also lots of extra features on Gruss that I don't use and quite honestly don't understand.

I would like to know if there is an application that really does allow you to do this in advance
and leave it.

I used Bet Angel Pro for a year but you cannot do it with that.

You have to re set, when the event goes in running, on every race, which is no good for you.

I am using Gruss for different strategies but you cannot do it with that either.

The easiest way is to just place them, on the Betfair interface, using "keep bets" but, as
someone has already said, there are regular reduction factors applied, following withdrawals!

For rapid placement you could use Gruss, just for that, if you are wanting to lay the field.

Good luck..........
Report Artisan April 15, 2010 9:51 AM BST
I'm sure there are other applications that do this, Shapeshifter mentions BFExplorer, and someone else mentioned Gruss. I'm not too familiar with them, but I can imagine that they can be got to do this. It definitely works in MFPro. And if you want you can get the bets to automatically fire at any time, e.g. just before the off.

I'm not sure what the point is about reduction factors. Sure they would apply if the bet was filled in advance of the off and withdrawals, but I got the impression, because Hugh wanted to keep his bets, that he wanted them to be filled In-Play, where of course reduction factors don't apply.
