Very true Sandown. Maybe they're glad to see the back of it.
|
By:
eh?
Could someone explain? |
By:
Exactly my point!
|
By:
Sandown :
'ICAN'TSTANDTHISFORUM'. |
By:
I cant get any sense out of anyone on here, everybody cant be dumb?can they?
i dont get any answers to my posts, yet this bf forum is supposed to be full of insightful people, any reasons?,bar the obvious. |
By:
Are you talking about Feck's endless ranting about "financial parasites" etc. (no matter how correct he may be), the language he uses in these rants, and that they have nothing to do with General BETTING ?
|
By:
Bf's policy seems to be to ban anyone intelligent whilst allowing the idiots to post all sorts of rubbish.
|
By:
Would a £100 to £20000 challenge liven the old place up a bit?
I'll update it every day with selections and results, sound good? :) |
By:
Ah, the curse of the so-called challenge thread. Not satfisfied by the actuality of converting £x into £20x the morons involved seek to publicize their attempts on the General forum. Attention-seekers to a man/woman who need the approbation of others more than the money. The inadequate chasing the impossible to misquote Wilde.
|
By:
Ok as long as the General Betting Forum lives...Im ok with that
|

"Reports of General Forum's death are greatly eggagerated!"

"Reports of General Forum's death are greatly eggagerated!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Forum did not die from eating scrambled eggs its true but he certainly became chicken-hearted of late. |
By:
Sometimes I think it's no yolk and some posters must be a little poached.
|
By:
Maybe, but I do believe that too many posters are soft in the head.
|
By:
I agree.
|
By:
Challenges & Trading Software threads are the devil incarnate :-(
|
By:
used to be a good read on here on some clever people posting, from what i can see after looking in for the last week or two, its full of sheep B-)
|
By:
So, when you come on here with a system or even a theory, you then get smashed to bits by the, the, what´s the word?
People who think they own the place. |
By:
thats the bugbear...if you dont like the thread title then DONT open it...why open a thread only to abuse the originator?
|
By:
theory's are good
system's are for jeremy kyle viewers B-) |
By:
The thing is, one can't alter the evolutionary process whether it be progression or regression, one has to like it or lump it, IMO. Maybe as the game gets harder and more cut throat, successful punters are mainly choosing to keep themselves to themselves, which only leaves the drivel, which could be taken as a good sign.
Btw, if you think this forum is bad, take a look at the Football Forum! |
By:
footy forum is a cesspit
|
By:
Do BF understand how important it is to set at least one crossbar very high so that people with knowledge and experience can be heard? Plenty of people wish to learn from each other.
A Betting Theory heading might do it. On the other hand, there are so many challenge threads & similar that surely they should be removed to a group specially for them or at least combined with competitions. There would still be a large diverse number of threads left for the General Betting forum. The problem of good threads dropping off because they do not receive the same number of replies as dross/chatty threads also needs to be understood and action taken. |
By:
The would be a good idea. Everyone write in to request a "Betting Theory" category.
|
By:
don't be silly sandown, people make comments on here that would make you sick and aren't even policed and you think that making a betting theory segment would eradicate the drivel.
Betfair love the cesspit of a forum because believe it or not it is a selling point for them, its where the dole merchants can hang all day whilst wasting their money |
By:
i kinda agree with you sandown, i keep asking where do newbies go to learn the basic-who is teaching them--this could be an ideal starting point where you could gain a better understanding and increase knowledge.
Sadly the majority of threads tend to be "look at me " syndrome with Lay/Nap of the day etc and the better one's quickly drop off. |
By:
Sandown
I spoke to the guys at BDP about the challenge threads a couple of weeks back. Apparently the "Your Competitions" category was intended for these challenge threads. They will be reviewing & maybe renaming sometime between now & forever, so who knows at least those may be relocated. Now all you need to do is get me to take The Toy off the market & everyone will be singing**by-ya. ;-) |
By:
I agree with you Sandown. I used to spend a lot of time on this forum, now I rarely bother. There is very little worth reading anymore.
|
By:
The thing is, its not just newbies who would benefit from a place where people are prepared to discuss, debate, inform, educate - sounds like the BBC charter -even old hands would benefit. There is always more to know. You can never know enough. If you think you know it all then you will learn eventually, probably at great cost, that you don't.
BF have sub-contracted the management of the forum, but they would be wise to retain control over standards and use. I don't think they understand how important the GF, in particular, is in building customer loyalty to the brand. |
By:
Sandown: I agree with you completely. Something needs to be done.

Well, if you target this forum, then you will need to target football forum as well as it's the worst ... as for this forum, you cannot move threads that are genuine about betting styles and debates !!!!!!
|
By:
agree with betting theory forum, but then people would post there to, problem is forums arent moderated and i cant see that will change

What a bunch of Tree hugging numpties you all are.Liberal Democrates I presume. These" Holyier than Though" postings I generally choose to ignore. But "Getting Better"has wound me up too much.
So I'll have my say. Firstly you conveniently call this the General Forum, which is incorrect. It is & this is the clue the "General Betting Forum".Now people post on here with different idea's & theories. Some good & some bad, some about football, some horse racing, maybe a bit of tennis.People tend to post there idea's & thoughts on here while having a bet.It is a betting exchange after all. I for one do not expect to become a proffesional or in the long run make a profit. If I do brilliant,if not so what. It's my pastime. Why you all frequent these forums is beyond me.How can you think that someone with a challenge about football or whatever is ill placed on this General Betting Forum. But then numb nuts "Getting Better"is ok to post something about life sentances in the states.I bet he's a "Jamie Bulger" shouldn't have gone to jail freak. The main reason that I occasionally join a challenge on here is because it makes it a little more fun. Also I can,as I did last night ask an opinion of someone who has an opinion that I respect (DFC) for example & this can help.I changed my opinion on a seletion last night & it turned a loser into a winning bet.It was only £60-00 but hey, thats reason enough for me. Now,what has "Getting Better" got to input, that is going to improve anyones betting ways on here. You should all go & join a Forum on "Amnesty International"or Green Peace etc.One further thing, please dont forget that a vote for the "Liberal Democrates" is a wasted vote. Plonkers the lot of you. |
By:
I think there should be a compulsory literacy test to prevent people like Numpterous Numpterous Ghally from posting.
|
By:
PS Sandown,How do you get to your idea, that your type of Forum would be a "Prized Asset" of Betfair. If it attracts 20p e/w Yankee numpties like yourself .How's that going to put a penny on there share price.
Buy the sound of you,you are either bullied by your wife & family or perhaps have a small p*nis. What ever it is just go & strangle a kitten or something.Cause you will just get high blood pressure on here. There are millions of forums all over the web.I for one do not read most of the threads on here. But on a gambling website,I will defend the right of anyone to open there own thread & put what they choose on it.There are moderators to censor anything untoward etc.Go tut somewhere else. |
By:
Contrarian,2 things brave boy.Do you actually have a bet & secondly I never said that I was scholar,I take it that you want to censor people for spelling mistakes or bad grammer now. What an ar*e.What do you actually contribute to these sports based betting forums.PS I may be thick maybe not,but I'm retired at 49 with enough to live on & not worry about the recession etc etc.
|
By:
They maybe should have a compulsory ** test" to stop prats like you from posting. If you had a life you wouldn't go round Grinching on forums around the net.
