Todays Lays

To anybody who is interested in laying horses, I have decided to put up my selections on this thread daily as I think it will help me with discipline or bad discipline in my case!

I have been laying horses for over 5 years winning some and losing some (more) until recently when I have really tried to focus and concentrate on my lay selections and not be tempted to have side bets out of boredom.

I have also tried to get to grips with my money management as I think this is one of the most important factors when it comes down to successful backing/Laying.

Anyway, enough of that, I intend to use this thread to put up my daily selections, of course today was a very good day but you can also expect a lot of not so good days to come. This laying business is a hard long slog and takes time to turn reasonable profits and as you know its 10 steps forward and 9.5 steps back!

Just a note re my selections and staking method/s.

I used to use level staking for most of my backing/laying selections but have recently been looking at different methods to help smooth out losing selections and make sure my betting bank is safeguarded.

I have been trying the famous maria staking plan for a while and although it doesnt make as much profit as level stakes it really does help mentally with the large swings in bank balance associated with laying.

Anyway, I have just one rule regarding my selections and that is my cut off is 11.0 on betfair.
(for example, Troialini in the 4.00 was trading sub double figures this morning and could have easily been matched sub 11.0 and its s.p. returned a massive 16/1!)

I hope things continue to go well now I am recording my laying performance on a public thread!!

Yes Hasty - 1.45 Cape Tribulation was an aftertime. Apologies, honestly didnt realise and will remove from figures.

Also 2.25 Chepstow Ponchatrain was submitted at 2.27 but official off time was 2.30:57.


2m 4f, All 18 run. Off 2.30:57. Was entered late as I omitted it from initial post in error.

Will get my act together tomorrow and submit all selections well b4 start.

Well, a cracking day today with all 16 lays obliging.....getting the S/R over the target of 90%.

Just over 15pts profit this afternoon with no side bets or distractions. Managing to stick the days selections and not side-tracked with side bets....did not really have the time for any side bets today anyway with so many bets - a busy Saturday afternoon!.

Im going to update the figs later as I have been using ratchet staking since the start of this thread...it only slightly increases the stakes but after a while the compound magic really starts to increase profits very well. I will show figs using the ratchet also at levels.
