Good luck tomorrow everyone. Think I won't bet, then again I have a habit of saying that. I've basically got a free day to use whenever I want. No good enough opportunities on West Brom - Forest for me atm.

well just a quick look and on day 150 we should be hitting the 830 quid mark - ish lol to be fair its the last month that all the monies made and if we are all doing well i dare say it will be hard to match a bet for teh amounts we'd be on lol !
By:

If by some miracle it worked out that way, in that last month we'd be looking for 2 grand a day at the start and 4 grand a day at the end! Long way to go though and so many things can trip us up ;)

I have read this today from front to back & have found it very interesting. There seem to be a few people on here that could do well if they can keep there discipline. That is the holy grail in this kind of system. On the basis of this challenge I have been crunching the numbers all day & I will be hatching my own idea in the next couple of days.I'm going to be looking at finding 1.2 ish bets & have a staking plan etc.I generally bet on football multi's & have a quite good record of profits over the last 10 years or so.I would show a huge profit on my sensible bets for sure. But just like alot of you people out there I am totally undisciplined & will bet any stupid bet for stupid amounts etc & just never know when to quit.
What I am gradually doing is studying my bets alot more & putting my bets on a leaving them until there finished, before checking them. What I need to know is your opinion on backing on the football at odds of betreen 1.15 to 1.25.Which are the best markets to look for etc.But the most important one that my idea will work on is not to back 6 maximum losers on the trot. This to me seems like a nearly impossible thing to do,but I'm not used to backing at such short odds,so I may be wrong.I need as much advice as I can get on that one.
My thoughts are that as your bank builds & the bets get bigger your discipline should inprove as it gets alot more serious as the pot builds. The most important thing about my idea is based on not hitting a run of 6 losers on the trot.If I can do that then I think that it's a goer.
One further thought & that is about Granny.I was gutted when after all her hard work she bombed out on that 1-1.I'm sure now in hindsight she would regret that particular bet & also going all-in.I'm sad that she seems to have dropped out as I think that she was not to far away from getting it right.

Hi Real Deal - are you thinking of laying multis (as in one of selections must lose?)

You can't have 6 losers on the trot? Sounds like a Mr Martin Gale.
By:

When: 08 Jan 10 00:42
No Danny,I'm going to keep my multi's separate, unless anyone has any idea's about getting those tiny odds.I think that I maybe on to something with an idea that I've been trying on those big multi's for smallish stakes. But at the moment I'm just checking that out. It's really hard at the moment with the weather etc.But I'll be getting that one out here soon when I've got some more results. So far I have won about 2k in the last 8 or 9 days for fairly small stakes & Fulham/Fulham which I got totally wrong cost me a 7 out of 7 & over 6k for £20-00 stake. It's just maybe a lucky streak.but the results have been terrible of late & I'm sure teams will soon start to play to there true form pretty soon.I am going to hold fire for a week or so before I post my idea on that one It's maybe rubbish, but I hopefull that I might have stumbled on something, looking at the game from a totally different angle than Ihave for 20 odd years of mug punting.I am a fairly bright guy & I am great with figures etc,but totally s**t with the discipline. They have had 10's of thousands off me over the years & as I am hopefully getting wiser with age I just want some of my cash back & dont worry about there overound & any other edge that they say they have.I'ts our stupid foolishness that gives them there Massive edge over us mug punters. After wanting to make a big wedge,my main hope is for us all to relieve these Bookies of some of there cash that they basically just sit there & collect.

Whats that Wedged,dont understand m8.
By:

When: 08 Jan 10 00:52
Wedged is saying it sounds very much like a Martingale system. In the end though too many losing bets in a row for any of and we're stuffed as far as the challenge goes.

I'm finding this an absolute blast so far finding out what sort of betting will become my bread-and-butter to achieve the 2.5% and I'm almost waiting for my first loss; the losing bets will be where I learn the most in this challenge.
By:
Real Deal
When: 08 Jan 10 00:58
Tottally agree m8,I am going to have a go at this one to.I think it really has got legs, but there has to be a way of not putting all in as obviously massive long runs of winners wont happen unless your really lucky. But with decent judgement I could really see somebody doing it.As I said earlier surely the discipline will improve as the bets get bigger. That is surely the same for all of us.
By:
CompactD
When: 08 Jan 10 00:58
And looks like you're coming in with the right attitude Real Deal, good luck and welcome. Be as selective as you can, we're only after 2.5% a day, and you want to find the value and push those very likely bets towards almost certainty with research. And have fun, I certainly am! This is loads better than mug-punting, as you call it :D
By:

Thanks for that m8.This is a new concept for me after years of just handing over my hard earnt.I totally agree with you that this measured way can be just as exciting.Obviously I firstly want to win a big wedge for myself, but after that it's great to see a few decent people on here having a result as well.I was gutted when Granny did her bank earlier in the thread.I hope she comes back here cause she seemed like a proper sporty Lady.

You guys should bring up the thread by Freestyle called 'Challenge Mark III' or similar (and mark I and II) where this was done before. Although no one was successful (i'm still going, not sure about the others) the thread was a success with plenty of great ideas/input etc.

It was a 2% compound interest challenge, which some suggested was too high. And i'd say 2.5% is unnecessarily high too - just my opinion.

Best way to go is many many small bets spread over several markets per day, trading for very small profit.

Also, one last point. If you lose a few bets/days, no need to get it all back the next day and then some. Take a time and build it back slowly just like the way you did to get to the point you were.

So what if it actually take you a year and a half?? I rather take 450 days and have £160k than spend 6 months wasting my time before chasing and pi$$ing it all away.

GL all.

Wedge

PS Real Deal, are you confirming you are running a martingale system?

Just thinking about this challenge.I think that I am going to try it with 2 separate Banks. One will be Tortoise which will be 2.5% daily return hopefully & the second will be the Hare, which will be 2.5% return on each bet,but done in my usual 300 mile an hour approach,as quickly as possible.I promise not to hog this thread to much & when it all goes t*ts up please feel free call me numpty or whatever.I hope I'm not going to be a bad influence,if I am just insult me & I'll leave.

I actually thought you were going for a 1.2 Martingale system when I first read it, which if you are loaded would work but chasing is disastrous. I was upto £70 odd on this until Torino did me in the last minute, then i chased a little with bigger bets.

Trading for me is the best way maybe even just 1% or 0.5% per bet and build it up for the day. On a saturday you could take at least half of your 17.5% for the week.

Its definitely the way to bet, but you wont win them all, so using your whole bank is gonna kill you.

As someone said earlier, so what if it takes you 6 months or 18 months, there is nothing worse than seeing your wallet showing ZERO due to lack of discipline (which has been my problem for years)

I'd like to know more on your multiples when you do it, I was very interested in them at one point, but the liability you have to put up for the small profit is rather scary if not almost 100% nailed on.

Instead of going for gold why dont people set a pre-defined price to reach say 5/2 from a number of odds - on bets. Using a simple staking plan to recover previous loses & achieve a target?.

gonna join in with this one i think i have been following all the comments and have noticed that some people have tweeked there bets to suit the individual... i like the idea of of winning???????% each day im gonna head for 1%, also my 1% may be achieved by more than one bet

Del I take on board all your points & agree,my problem as you'll see soon is I am totally impatient & as you will find out latter I have some great idea's but personally putting them into practice is where I'll fall flat on my face. For example I have been busy most ot today starting no less than 6 different Banks.2xTortoise(Both winners today)2xHare(one is on 6 days already & other on 2 days)& then I have started 2x by my own Theory (Both winners) on day 1.What I am going to do is start a new thread to log all the winners at the end of every day so as not to hog this brilliant thread etc.I will also explain my new system. But dont get to excited as it's quite simple & uninspiring.Having said that I quite hopeful that it may work. Finally I'm going to post the 6 or 7 bets that I have done on multi's & my theories that I am applying. That one will return some biggies soon I'm sure. With pretty small stakes. My apologies to anyone who thinks that I'm just another Prat with big idea's etc etc. Also I wont post all the bets I make always, but if anyone doesn't believe me or wants to see them I will then post them up.It's not always easy as I use about 10 different bookies to bet.1 last point my figures will be always after commision.

Got a free £5 multiple bet offer for trebles or more on the footy this weekend. If I win I'm going to use the winnings to skip a month or two! I backed Real Madrid, Sevilla, Hercules, Inter, Roma, Fiorentina @ 12.5.

One of the games I was planning a bet on this weekend has been postponed so I'm going to go back to West Brom - Forest and have a good sift through.

del a hoya starting bank is all relative i guess to what you can afford to lose, as i said in my account i only had 100.61 but i had 500 in my betting bank, so why not utilise my capital, after all to you it may seem alot but to hundreds and hundreds more on here its prob a drop in the ocean, to me it is a nice amount to have and of course i would not like to lose it but at 10% risk im gonna hopefully get a good go at it
