Great to see that this thread has reared its ugly head again!Happy

Lex, what's going on, you've still got money to spend!Laugh

After a zillion experiments I really don't believe that Martingale works in any form.

The Martingale is a sure fire way of putting you in the work house or queing at food banks with others who have tried it.

The problem with this system is that it fools you into thinking that it works cos it can go right for weeks and weeks. Then all of a sudden it'll go pear-shaped and you'll be having sleepless nights!

Been there, bought the t-shirt!

Hi Shep! Laugh

I did start to write a long post about martingale and horses v roulette but I've said it so often that if no one can see it by now (and I've given enough examples!) they never will.

pm me if you want.

Lex, I haven't read the entire thread, but am I correct in saying that your system is based on laying favourites after a run of winning favs on the basis that there's never a run of x winning favs?

it is a hopeless disasteri cannot believe that anyone who considers the possibilities for more than 5 minutes can believe that martingale in roulette works - your statement:"I used to just stand and watch roulette table for ages and memorise sequenses, in all the times I watched I never hit a sequence of 12 red or black in the times I was doing this, so when a sequence hits 10 then you go in"is laughable and I sincerely hope that you wrote it in an attempt to wind people up.

I experimented in Vegas with this ... I tried it for 4 days, I would only go in once 10 in row happened ... over 4 days, roughly 8 hours in casino I broke even, this was mainly due to me not having enough cash to chase. There was a guy there also doing similar thing, he was $8000 up from doing it ...

There are some great random number generators online. I urge anyone that's got the hots for Martingale to look at these so they'll save a fortune.

first fav wins but very short (1.42 matched) so no damage done. Next fav will be laid at 2.3

But you're arbitrarily laying faves based on previous races which have nothing to do with the one you're then betting in.  It's a bit like saying 10 faves in a row have won in the ATP in Miami, so you'll lay Roger Federer if he's playing me, as it's phreeee munny.  This isn't a system, unless it's more sophisticated than you're letting on; it's just guesswork.

As for Schalke, he must be on the wind up.

Well we're all entitled to our opinion and yours is bollox Laugh as I have repeatedly proved what I'm saying over and over.
Perhaps you should have read the entire thread ! - it has everything to do with the past result and its certainly not arbitrary! And here's a hint - tennis isnt actually anything to do with horse racing (or feckin roulette) . its a method not a system. hope that helps.Laugh

Havnt been in a casino for quite sometime, what is generally the table min/max limits on roulette please?
Then using the Martingale when the enevitable long loosing run occurs, how many spins is it before your bet exceeds the table  limit?
Applying the martingale to anything is bollox,as your bank will not be able to cover the enevitable  long loosing run.
Trying it on horses, football, tennis or anything still ends up disaster.
What is the longest wiining/loosing run on say favourites(horse racing)?
Could your bank cover that run?
You cant beat the maths for god sake.

ps and for the record roulettle wheels have no memory.

We'll agree to disagree, Lex.  All the best with your 'method', but one has to wonder why you're not upping stakes on this goldmine if you've proven it.  Surely you should have left the horse racing markets devoid of people to bet against you after cleaning them out one by one?

(Putting smiley faces at the end of your sentences doesn't make your point more emphatic by the way.)

By the way Lex,the result of a previous match, race, event etc has no bearing whatsoever on a future race/match/event.
If 15 favourites won at the tennis would you lay Federer against me is a great example!!

I was in Southend Casino before, playing blackjack when a trampy chinese guy sat down next to me. Playing fivers with Table limits £5-£500.

He used martingale and remember he won about £25 then his loses began to happen, he must have put down £320 7th chance because the dealer pointed to the table limits sign. And he had to sweat on something low like 15 or 16 but was paid off as the dealer bust. As he collected his winning and walked away I thought what a mug, the system couldn't of been working because he was looked like a tramp unless he just clocked off from the local take away.

If the Martingale was a sure fire winner why did the chineese guy skuttle off sweating rather than taking the casino to the cleaners?
Because the penny dropped it doesnt work.

This is why you wait on a running sequence THEN GO IN .... honestly, for hours I have sat and watched Roulette tables and very very rarely do you get more than a 13/14 sequence ... if you lose on one fine, take the hit, but the amount of times it DOESN'T happen outweighs the times it does ...

Very rarely but it will happen.

The odds of getting 35 reds in a row, is exactly the same as any other sequence of 35.

Good luck with it, but there is only one foolproof method to ensuring Martingale works and that is having a infinite bank. In the long run the bank will beat you, but if you can avoid the pitfalls before that happens, then you're very, very lucky.

Maybe when it comes to Casinos yes, but thats why i don't bet at Casinos ... the difference between martingale at roulette compared to martingale at sports betting is TOTALLY different ...

By:

That is very correct. But demonstrating how Martingale on a perfect system like a roulette wheel with very defined probabilities only serves to demonstrate that no staking strategy can perfectly beat the system. You need the long-term value picks too. If that's what you're picking, then it shouldn't matter what staking system you use.

Martingale is a completely flawed system used by those naive enough to think it works, or by mugs, imvho. I hope you're the former, and that your picks are good enough for you. Good luck with it, but it's not for me in the slightest.
By:

It is flawed in certain aspects as described with the games it it is generally associated with, but applied to different methods it can actually be very profitable ...
