"How many times will Dennis Wise try a half-nelson on a forward from a corner" sort of thing do you mean?
Report Lori June 11, 2009 1:59 PM BST
You can always bet on Rumble and WM. Some sites will price up other PPVs if there's particuarly interesting fights coming up.
Report Fresh June 11, 2009 2:02 PM BST
only site i've ever seen price up wrestling is oddsmaker and it's only wrestlemania. they have a terrible rep though so wouldn't bother betting with them myself

i thought it was all pre determined who would win before they wrestle so people in the know would win a fortune... maybe thats why there are no bets for it.
Report Lori March 29, 2010 2:28 PM BST
5d were booking to $100 limits last night, although sadly only $50 on the Rey fight.
Report owl4life March 29, 2010 2:29 PM BST

Report Blades March 29, 2010 2:34 PM BST
it is almost as straight as British horse racing.
Report Lori March 29, 2010 2:37 PM BST
Harder to get a $100 bet on british horse racing though.

It's time, it's time, it's Vader time - is he still going?

This is not real! There can't be betting!!?!?!?

I still remember I was driving from Montreal to Ottawa, around 2 hours. There was a heavy snow storm.

We came across a car that had skidded off the high way and stopped to help them. There were four large men pushing it out of the ditch. They were all wrestlers.

There had been a matinee in Montreal and they were driving to Ottawa for the night show.

I still remember my friend, slightly stoned, looking at them and going "Hey, aren't you the ------ brothers" then looking at the other two and going "and aren't you their arch enemies?"

Seems they had a match against each other that night.

I'm sure I read that story in one of the Autobiographies from the other side!

There can be betting because the leaks are few and far between.

Although there's obviously insider info, what are very rich superstars going to do with a free $100 at 5/2. Not worth their while leaking it.

Some of the bigger fights, very few people know the results in advance these days.

Just fwiw, until about the mid 80s, teams that disliked each other on stage didn't socialise at all in real life, for the reason you describe.

Some of the lengths they went to to draw a crowd were absolutely insane. Ted Dibiase spent a week in hospital while the doctors tried to find out why he passed out on stage.

His mum once raced through town to a fight of his dad's in progress in a deliberate attempt to get caught speeding to get much needed publicity.
The same fight went on for three hours until it went beyond the town curfew so the police threw all the fans (and wrestlers) out of the arena. I'm sure those stories appeal to your promoter style mind :)

Lori have you read Ric Flaires autobiography ? Theres some great stories in there, after that plane crash where like 5 wrestlers were injured, good guys and bad guys, and how much they had to do to hide it from the public that they were all in the same small plane together.
Report Lori March 30, 2010 12:49 PM BST
It's one of the few I havent, but I will :) That particular event does sound hilarious now I think about it.

Hart's is awesome, Jericho's is also very good, although he was held back by having to end it when he joined the WWE.
