memory issue.

Are you using Windows 7 ?.

I am having the same problem with IE8 on my W7 laptop but not with my 2 older XP machines running IE8.

Everything works fine for a while and then stops responding. It says Windows is looking for a solution to the problem but never finds one.I have to close and reopen frequently.

Nothing shows on the event viewer or any system logs.

I have Googled this and it seems many users are having the same problem. The consenus seems to be that it is something to do with add-ons.

Im using vista..
my own thoughts are that I need more memory
but it can happen with just one window open ..

Can you take some unnecessary items out the stat menu. Not delete the progams just stop them starting up when the computer kicks off. I expect there's loads of things you dont need running.
Report Hayden March 28, 2010 2:54 PM BST
yes that's the case with most kits I look at these days , too much stuff running from start up.

If you press both Windows key + R then enter MSCONFIG it'll bring up a box , go to the start up tab and see what's ticked then decide what you don't need.

don't know if you've any other unwanted clutter but I keep mine clean as a whistle with www.ccleaner.com , free and run it before racing and mid afternoon every day and never have issues with slow betfair etc , only takes seconds to run.

Using Vista myself and in that config box only got the microsoft stuff and Skype boxes ticked , all others unticked and anything I may use infrequently I start manually , mine runs rapid.

Had the same problem recently and I have vista. Do you have more than one firewall? This was the problem with mine. Also try resetting your modem. Press the button on the back to reset see if that helps.

If it's lack of memory see if there are things you can get rid of from the hard drive like films or music you could burn to disk.
Report cruso March 28, 2010 3:26 PM BST
yes Ive got ccleaner thanks

.. left windows defender

dont think that made any difference ..
Report Hayden March 28, 2010 4:44 PM BST
ok mate can't do it any harm though and may be more noticeable when you find the real culprit , have you got good security prevention ?
Report Hayden March 28, 2010 4:52 PM BST
