I don't think so curly. You should bear in mind that even if he is getting value overall a large proportion of each £2 win is lost once the eventual loser is realised.
I could go out now (in the rain!) and spend two hours walking round town looking for dropped change on the pavements. I would make a profit - at least break even (!), but would it be worth it? |

next bet: Wycombe to bt AFC Wimbledon @ 1.05/.06 - £335 to win £19.10 while 2-0 up @ 51:15

Well catflappo I guess thats why this exchange works because different people have different opinions. Personally I don't get involved with this backing 1.01s-1.05s but if the bets are value then they are no less worthwhile than someone with a similar ROI strikerate at evens - difference is if a thread was started about that no one would be interested because they couldn't comment on 1.01s getting gubbed.
Backing a 1.01 shot that should be 1.001 will always be value in my opinion just the same as any other value bet, and so I wish Schalke luck even though AFC have just got one back. |
|
By:
That'll do - safe as houses.

I wish you all the best Schalke, but this last bet is horrible.
I think you've lost a bit of discipline to be honest. |

and Wycombe restore their lead, many interesting comments on here about my style of betting. Many of you will be surprised that when I gave up my career I done gamblimg for a living for two years. I done very well and lived off the money but as time went on I had to dig into my funds as it wasn't quite enough.
Eventually I lost the big bank I had and if you don't have that then you can't bet properly. Thats when I discovered betfair and I tried many different way of betting. Then I stumbled accross the 1.01-1.05 bets and the thing was I enjoyed it so so much, better than any other type of betting. I get a rush from betting for a few mins, and even though the rewards are small, I like the challenge of building them up into a sizeable amount, thats what keeps me doing this. There is no limit to the amount you can win. It's great and I don't know why so many slate me for it when I have produced good profits but most important I enjoy it ! |

no comments when its won? snooker finished m8 and i logged off, like u do as well m8!! as i said, u are picking out 1/20 to 1/100 on shots and have had a number of hair raising moments and basically scraped over the line. certainly isnt any skill in what u are doing, as has been proved many times where easily another goal/frame etc would have grounded this thread. as ive told u b4, u are completely wasting yr knowledge of snooker by piddling around on frames trying to nick a few pennies, if u actually played frames properly u would see there is far more to be had. but when have u ever listened to anyone else eh. You came on and made a comment about my snooker bet, and a comment about the Rangers match being a close bet, why no comments about all the other bets, eh? |

Nice work shalke.....Hope you hit that magic ton mark of consecutive winners.

It would indeed be interesting if he hit a ton. Could you tell me Schalke, and I'm sorry if you've already answered this one, what determines how much you bank and how much you bet on the next result. As I noticed before you were banking a lot more often than you are currently.
|

why am i gonna make comments on all yr bets?? ur picking 1.01 to 1.05 shots that by their very nature should be pretty much home and hosed, not exactly great skill and judgement involved is there!! the reason people come on here and talk about the close shaves that u have is that it just shows what a risky form of betting it is, when really it should be plain sailing stuff.

As I noticed before you were banking a lot more often than you are currently. Ive hit the ton before, the record is 199 in a row and that was the very first attempt I had at this in 2005 ....... banking = just depends how I feel, at the moment though I am putting £5 of the winnings from each bet onto the running total and banking the difference. I don't want to put the whole lot on as I might hit a losing bet and end up with -£200, it's best if I break even as quickly as possible ...... but the higher it goes I think I will just bank 50% and carry 50%. Then again I might just bank the lot, but it would be nice to see £1000+ bets ..... |

Callataxi ......
have had one losing bet in 95, and that was Tottenham coming back against Arsenal from 4-1 down @ 89:33 ..... really that shouldn't have lost, but I have had 94 winning bets, sounds plain sailing to me on paper. Yes I have been taking more 1.05's than normal but they are all winning which is the most important thing. Come back after 1000 bets and if I am making a loss I will hold my hands up and concede that this is a poor way of betting, but if I am making a decent amount by 1000 bets then it shows money can be made. |

but the question or statement catflappo and myself asked was why have u abandoned so many threads in the past once they hit the rocks?? u do have a history of losing bets on these threads but u prefer to let them dissappear and start a new thread with a nice clean slate dont u.

Do you promise to keep it going for 1000 bets? |
|
By:
if you were doing this in 2005 and your convinced it makes money over the long term how come you are still playing for pennies 3 years later ?
|
|
By:
ah he is gonna struggle to answer these 3 questions lads, prepare to be ignored.

There have been a few I have stopped when they were well in profit, someone only last week or so brought it up .... sometimes I just withdraw the money if I need it, sometimes I get bored with it, sometimes I can't be bothered betting after a losing bet, then I start again with a new thread as I no longer know how to bring the old ones up, simple. |

if you were doing this in 2005 and your convinced it makes money over the long term how come you are still playing for pennies 3 years later ? I would if I had the spare money but all I had the now was £1000, and I am not prepared to use it for 1 bank, so I split it into 5 banks of £200, my stakes get bigger the longer it goes on anyway. I have a house to pay for, a car, loads of expenses, if I didn't have all this then I could play with bigger money. |
|
By:
And what do you consider is a 'decent amount of money' to have made after 1000 bets?
|
|
By:
Well, I am hoping for a good run with one of them so I would say between £3-4000
|

The price on Wigan has actually gone down ......
|

That is because Wigan are currently giving it a go Schalke. Good Luck with this one mate.

By:
I'm watching it, don't see Wigan doing anything to merit the price going down, Arsenal have had a few shots on goal 2nd half, Wigan done F A

To say they did nothing Schalke is a little off the mark, could have had two penalties a few minutes ago.
