I'm new top the forum but like all of you m keen to find the ellusive money making system.

This idea seems spot on - though lots of patience needed.

Why give Shalke so much hassle - if you don't like it, don't read it and for heavens sake don't bother posting on the thread.

Good luck mate.

Shalke!

welcome back mate - regardless of what anyone says, or profits/losses of your systems, your challenges are always interesting to say the least, i shall be watching this one carefully after keeping track of your previous challenges.

i should ask though - you've tried many systems in the past with x amount of money - is this money that you've simply earned from your job? or is it gambling winnings?

i get the feeling that a lot of this is for personal kicks and much of it is funded by a consistent profit-making betting system that you're reluctant to tell anyone, and rightly so..
Report General Midwinter February 15, 2008 12:06 AM GMT
Hi Shalke

Could you explain your banking strategy in this thread?

Reason I ask is that you seem to be banking about 1% of profits, but at that rate it will take you over 120 bets to 'secure' your original 200. This assumes average odds of 1.02. The actual number of bets required will be greater as you would have to get action on 2000 per bet at this level.

Why not bank nothing for 37 bets (which doubles your stake at 1.02) then bank the 200?

Start again with 'their' 200 banking, say, 25 - 50% thereafter.

When the inevitable short odds bet gets beaten your initial stake is secure and you will have banked some useful profits (hopefully!).

Using your current strategy you will have only banked about 20 in 37 bets, so the effect on your 'risk of ruin' is very small.

Best of luck as always.
Report hickman February 15, 2008 12:23 AM GMT
some decent points there GM, which i'd agree with.

when the stakes get beaten the loss is going to be big, and having banked just 20 pounds after 37 bets it makes it hardly worth banking anything at all.

Well, just to point out that what you said is exactly the way I do this ..... At the moment I bank all the pence, simply as it get in the way when placing bets. So if I win 4.60 I will just bank the 60p and carry the 4. Once my current bank reaches 400 then I simply bank the 200 and that me broken even.

Thats the way I have always done it, don't know if you have followed it before.

Once I have broken even I then bank 50% of everything made after that....so I start with 200, get it to 400 and then start again, after that I will turn the 200 into into 300, then bank 50 and start again with 250, then just keep going that way .....
Report General Midwinter February 15, 2008 12:39 AM GMT
Well, it's just my $0.02. There must be a way to optimise the return vs. risk of ruin for these bets, but I may not have the math skills to determine this, and a lot will depend on the degree of risk that the bettor considers acceptable.

I do understand that a staking plan cannot overcome a losing strategy if these bets are not value in the long term - trouble is that at these odds you need a very large number of bets to determine if Shalke has a genuine edge.

I suspect that a lot of the time he has, but I think that he needs to protect his bank better from the odd freak result / bad decision.

I was thinking much the same Lucas. But it appears that all of his old losing threads are no longer accessible thru fred77 to add up the losses to remove from the ONE winning "challenge". Talk about the ONE winning thread, forget the endless other challenges that went pear shaped with hefty losses - you should work for Nu Labour :-)

Schalke - I sincerely hope you are successful and do well this time after so many failures. But as I and others have said on nearly every one of your threads - you don't learn any lessons from your losing bets and just plough on with new challenges which are exactly the same. Until you show some signs of learning these threads will just be a countdown until doom.
