Probably been done before many times so apologies, if it has.
Ok never started one of these before but saw something posted on the horse racing forum last night and which directed me to a thread on here. After reading union jacks latest investment thread of a lay a day for .0% gain. I noticed that he'd racked up well over a month of successful lays of horses that have prices less than 10's. Although admittedly he had a couple of blips early on.
While I like checking in on UJ's threads from time to time, I've never been one to have the patience to do something like that but fancied a similar challenge with a greater risk reward. The only problem his the way I wish to do it goes against the strategy I normally adopt. Which is basically seeking out 'value' by backing at decent odds and laying the odd short priced favourite. imo that's where the value is on Betfair.
Anyway I thought, how hard can it be choosing one or two selections every day or so, going 'all-in' on each one giving at least a 10% return on investment. So backing at 1.1 or a bit higher and laying at 11's or a bit lower.
To make it interesting for the knockers and the supporters the start bank will be £250 so if successful the bank after 30 selections will be £4k+. And the sums staked will quickly be decent amounts.
Summary:-
Start Bank £250 Each bet risking 100% of current bank Odds of each bet to provide at least 10% return Averaging 1 bet each day
Note - As I am knew to backing selections for such a small return my average number of bets may increase depending on how opportunties develop. This will just mean I reach the target or go bust sooner!
For the knockers:-
1. I've never wished a fellow punter to lose, even the fast pics 1.01 boys and even if a punter isn't particularly pleasant. The way I see it is that we're all here to do the same thing - make a bit of money !
For the supporters:-
1. Only really bet on horses and dogs these days so suggestions for other sports would be much appreciated. Basically I'm aiming to average one bet a day for a month.
2. When suggesting bets you need to bear in mind that if this thing gets past the first few selections then there needs to be sufficient market liquidity for bets to be placed in well in advance of an event start time or events with SP betting available.
3. Info on 'non-triers' would be much appreciated!
I am out all afternoon so won't get chance to post but may be able to use BF mobile. Here are my qualifying lays but they are dependant on price and market reaction. I will update tomorrow with the ones (if any) I lay subject of course to the one above losing!

again its the daily goals market ..for sunday at the mo to lay - 12 goals 1.74 -14 goals 2.77 -16 goals 5.41 - 18 goals 11.91 (back price is 7.05)
5 games with my predictions
villa v burnley 2-0 black v bolton 2-1 fulham v brum 1-1 wigan v spurs 1-1 city v pool 2-2
fairly realistic ? i dont think il be that far out ... and thats only 13 goals possibly will be less il be having a lay of 12,14 and16 but for you... keep an eye on the 18+ market surely cant be more than 3.5 a game
good work,good luck

cheers overseas, glad you were thinking along the same lines. Had a shortlist of 4 to do today and the 2 that didn't quite tick all the boxes were well beaten, the 2 I did were both placed. One of those days I guess. Not bothering with the evening cards. Back tomorrow.

didn't realise this thread was still here after the switching over of the forums, I did search for it a while ago but it wasn't there but somehow stumbled across it today. Hard to believe it is over 2 years since I had a go at this. Perhaps I'll another crack at it.
