Selection for the Second of Jan.

Sevilla to win at Athletico Madrid. 1 point win 2.66 at the moment.

Athletico are having a poor season and have lost their last two at home. They recovered last time to get a draw away at Teneriffe. Sevilla have been having a good season and had won their two previous before a home loss to getafe . Altough this is a tricky one 2.66 is excellent value for a team in third playing a team who lie 15th, and have lost the last two at home .

No Fa cup bets. Could not see any value.

Are you taking account of AFRICAN players probably won't be available for SEVILLA....and AM likely to have both of their top strikers in team and they need to win this.

Also SEVILLA play BARCA a few days away in COPA , whereas AM are in relegation zone and are likely to be giving 100% to win........

GL with bet if sticking with it.....but looks likely to lose IMO.

,'' he said. "It is what we expect. We have to pull ahead and get Atletico Madrid into the position it deserves.''

He added: "We have to give everything in order to gain three points on Saturday.

"To win against Sevilla we have to concentrate for the whole game to avoid mistakes. We have great quality in the offensive part of the team.''

Tomas Ujfalusi and Juanito are both suspended for the hosts, while Sergio Aguero and Pablo Ibanez are doubtful.
However, Sanchez Flores is boosted by the return to fitness of Maxi Rodriguez, who had been struggling with an injury over the Christmas period.

Jose Reyes missed the final match of 2009 against Tenerife due to a neck problem, but is fully recovered and is in contention to face his former club.

The Utrera-born 26-year-old said: "I've overcome the injury that I suffered and I feel pretty good.

"I've already done some headers and I didn't feel any pain, which is important, and proof that I've fully recovered.

"It's a special game for me, which is nice to play in. I like playing Sevilla, but obviously the most important thing is to win for me, for the club and for the supporters.''

Reyes spent a decade with Sevilla, coming through the youth ranks and then spending five years in the first team before joining Arsenal in 2004.

"If I score I won't celebrate it, out of respect for the club where I grew up,'' he vowed.

"Sure, it's always important and one likes scoring regardless of who it's against.

"The truth is that I don't get obsessed about scoring; the truly important thing is for the team to win. If we win, whoever scores, I'll go home happy.''

Sevilla have failed to win any of their last three matches at home, picking up just two points with draws against Real Valladolid and Malaga, before going down 2-1 to Getafe on December 19.

That hugely disappointing haul has seen the Andalusians slip off the pace in the title race. Three wins would have put Sevilla in joint second, just two points behind leaders Barcelona.

They will probably be glad to play away from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, even though they will face an Atletico side determined to turn their season around.

Adriano and Lolo should be fit for the visitors after recovering from injuries, but goalkeeper Javi Varas is out following a collision with Abdoulay Konko in training
====================================================

Looks like I am wrong on Sergio Aguero being in team......but he still might be in it.....not sure .....

There were 4 Africans in the last team that played for SEVILLA.......when they lost.........No mention in above "report" re- whether they will be available to play tonight........but nevertheless , if they do play, will they give 100% with such a tournement approaching??????

I've layed SEVILLA and covered with a few CSs with them winning just in case they win!!!!

Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero and defender Pablo Ibanez will miss Saturday's match at home to third-placed Sevilla due to injury.
"Pablo won't make it as he has been suffering from stiffness all week and (Aguero) would have only made it just in time and we are not going to force things," coach Quique Sanchez Flores said.

Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez still considers Atletico a direct rival despite the Madrid club's poor start to the season and their slump to 15th out of 20 in the standings.

"They are a magnificent team, one of the greats of Spanish football, but football is football and there are things that defy explanation," Jimenez said.

"I see them as a direct rival and we have to take them very seriously because they won't be down there at the end of the season."

Sevilla will be without strikers Frederic Kanoute and Luis Fabiano and midfielder Didier Zokora but goalkeeper Andres Palop should be fit, Jimenez said

Sevilla defender Sergio Sanchez has a heart condition which requires him to cease all physical activity for the time being.

Spanish players called for improvements in screening procedures for heart problems following the death of Espanyol defender Dani Jarque in August, two years after Sevilla midfielder Antonio Puerta collapsed during a game and later died after a prolonged cardiac arrest.

Second v third here. west Brom in excellent form However these wins have come against peterborough and scunthorpe with a cup win against hudersfield. Before this they drew at home to QPR and lost to Cardiff. So somewhere in between lies their true form.
Notts foresthave not lost since the 19 sept. They have not conceded in their last six plus an impressive draw in the cup with in form Birmingham.

No bet to-day but do think the ivory coast just above evens represents good value. wont be playing my-self as i dont like these tournaments at group stage.

Tomorrows bet is Back Liverpool at 2.22 to beat Stoke. 2 point win

Every tipster I look at is saying this is stokes to win. Altough Liverpool will be short on the ground with Gerrard and Torres missing, they still have adequate replacements. Stoke have not won in four and lost three games before drawing with Wigan. Liverpools last league game was an away win at Villa. Liverpool are at 2.22 which to me is excellent value. stoke have slipped to 3.95 which for me is not enough. Would have needed to be over 5 to represent value. Also remember benitez has a habit of winning when he looks in trouble. 2 point win here.

Also 1 point win Birmingham away at portsmouth. 2.78 .

Would not suprise me if Portsmouth did not win another game this season. In form Birmingham at 2.78 represents excellent value.

Years back I would have paniked and lumped on a short odds team in the hope of re-couping loses not any more. I believe in slow and steady and to deal with the loosing runs without too much emotion,

Bet 19 Jan 1 point win Man City to beat United.2.68 on the exchanges. United will field a strong team but prob. not their strongest. This is huge for city and been at home will be an advantage. Bet for 20 jan.

After much soul searching and deliberation one good make a strong case for a liverpool or spurs win to-night. Spurs or in 4 and in fine recent form however they failed to find the net against Hull and they have one win in six at blackburn in thier last 6 away games.
That said the quality of opposition has included Everton Villa Arsenal and United.Liverpool have won thier last 2 in the league atb home against wigan and Wolves/ Not the greatest of opponents but still wins. Against them Torres and Gerrard are again missing but with that said I still feel that against stoke they showed good form and played well bar the last 10 min. This is massive for Benitez and his side and a win would see them go 1 point behind spurs. At 2.56 I think they are good value and thats what my betting is about finding value. While it would not suprise me that they loose or draw I still think they are good value at 2.56.

Bet 2 Bolongna to beat Atlanta.
17th v 18th here and Bologna have a good home record while Atlanta have lost their four of thier last 5 on the road. At 2.5 they are good value.

Report gstreetblue January 20, 2010 3:51 PM GMT
Lille are in a fine run of form but Socheaux have been doing ok at home. At 1.94 I think its a fair price but not enough for me. That said it will prob win but not enough value. When backing Football form is important but not the be all and end all. A team like Lille who are on a winning run tempts people at this price and its not bad but the point is if they had maybe drawn their last 2 you would get 2.2 or even higher. If they were that yes they are worth a bet . I always look at previous results and try to equate this to price. I keep an eye on alot of teams. Eg The Liverpool bet. 2.58 on them is to me good value. It has all factors included in the price stars missing, drawing at Stoke, Playing 4th place Spurs. If Torres was playing and they had beaten Stoke It would be prob 2. If Gerrard playing as well prob 1.85-1.9. No value. Liverpool are still a good side and to me 2.58 is value if you get what I mean.

1 point win sheff utd to beat bolton 4.9 on the exchanges
1 point win reading to beat Burnley 2.58

Both under new management and both with uncertain futures. B olton looked shocking once Arsenal came at them and with Sheff utd in form ( only lost 1 in the last 6 away) and in the promotion spots I think the price is huge and fancy them to cause an upset.

1 point Scunthorpe to beat sheff wed 2.66
1 points Wigan to beat Blackburn 4.5
1 Arsenal to beat villa.2.26

Scunthorpe at home in this relegation battle are at a good price for me. They managed to put 2 past City at the weekend and this will help their confidence. wed are in good form winning the last 2 away but I think this is a massive game and have a strong feeling for the home side.

Blackburn should in all honesty win this. However at 2 show no value and with only 2 points seperating these 2 I think wigan are an excellent price.

Arsenal to beat villa. To me arsenal are good value and anytime they over 2 in betting you have to see it as value. If they hit form they can beat any side in the world. At just over5/4 I feel it is excellent value
Report wilson January 27, 2010 5:43 PM GMT
Scunthorpe shaped well against a reasonable City side, but they are not in the relegation area by accident. This will be a very tough game and I would think Sheff Wed on the back of wins at Barnsley and particularly at Blackpool will be a tough nut to crack. Blackburn somehow seem to manage to win these type of games and although Wigan look a tasty price but I don't feel they will win. Arsenal as you say can beat anyone on their day, but Villa fighting for that all important 4th place will also be hard to beat. No bets on these games for me, so I really hope I am wrong and you get all 3 up. Decent thread this. You can tell that by the lack of replies on it. Good luck tonight.

1 point athletico Madrid to beat celta Vigo 2.12

Mallorca are in 4th, place and getafe in 7th, both having fine seasons. Mallorca are 1 down from first leg and will have nothing to loose. The value is excellent at 3.9

Madrid are playing a strugling celta vigo side and will be keen to make up for the first leg against the second division side. Was going to make this a 2 point bet but this is big home game and as we know this can prove difficult for a side expected to win. Good luck if you are following.

Looking at your two Spanish Cup games tonight. Firstly I have a bit of a soft spot this season for Majorca and they are pretty strong at home, so am hopeful they will win for you. The other game looks very tough. I know A. Madrid have the firepower with Aguero and Forlan to win against most teams, however I have been very impressed with Celta Vigo's cup run and if pushed for a bet I would have to side with them. Maybe an overs bet in the latter game for me. Well done with Scunthorpe last night, and from the highlights on MOTD Arsenal looked a little unlucky not to win also. 1 point win Wolves to beat Palace2.9

An excellent price for a premiership team against a championship team .

A nil - nil draw to-night brings us to 35 points and a bad start to the month.

Tha above should read 34.2 points

33.2 points after Wolves put up a no show last night. Still would not dispute the theory and that brings me to my first 3 point bet of the year. Same theory Premership this time playing League 1.
3 point win spurs away to leeds. evens on the exchanges.

Spurs are a team competing for this years Champions league spots and at evens represent excellent value aagainst a league 1 side. Harry will have them ready as he is a past fa cup winner with pompey and will be able im sure to mentally prepare his troops for this one. I expected this to be about 1.6 but at evens it is an excellent bet

Spurs deliever and 36.2 points so far.

I apologise yet again about the commission. I will go back through all the bets and put up the correct points total. Its not far off the above.
Always taught that Spurs would have too much and it proved true. The evens available was too good to miss. I post the odds that I back at myself. Some people might get more some less.

Had no bets for yesterday and to-day. Looked at Santander away to ath. Madrid last night and value was there but could not see santander winning and left well alone .any feedback appreciated on any of the above thanks.

1 point Everton to beat Liverpool 4.7 on the exchanges.
An outside one but not beyond the realms of possibility. Everton in good form. Will play 4-5-1. Will hope to hit on the break and contain Liverpool. Will be tough to break down and without Torres might not happen. Good value and worth a point.

1 point west Ham to beat Burnley .2.92
Burnley have taken 3 points from the last 30 and while West-ham are not exactly in great form I think they are a good price against a team on the way down.

Anyway good luck and apologies about the poor grammar and spelling

Got a great price on spurs there, evens. Not sure what price they went off but I think it was something like 1.80 or even lower, and to be fair, they should have been out of sight by halftime.

Enjoyed reading the analysis and you are getting the results. Well done.

Well after a dissappointing weekend we return to action to-night and its stoke and ssunderland we will be following.

1 point Stoke to beat wigan 3.55
1 point Sunderland to beat Pompey 3.35

These 2 bets are from from certain but to me represent value and thats what I always look for. While sunderland are not great away Portsmouth are very poor at home and the 3.35 is good value.

Wigan have the second worst home record this season and again the price on stoke is good value.

I would not be suprised if neither went in but I have a feeling it could happen. 34.2 points so far

I know treble

To-days bet. 2 points win Arsenal to beat Liverpool 2.02

Arsenal to me are still agood side and behind the top 2 are far and away ahead of the rest. When they are over evens at home they are to me excellent value. Liverpool did well in the derby but for me they struggle away from home. The top 2 face tricky ties tonight away to Villa and everton and It maybe a chance for arsenal to sneek back in to contenion

Nice work gstreet i noticed every time you bet on my boys the hammers we lost can you bet on brum tonight please ;-) GL with your future bets.
Report Treble_Underscore February 11, 2010 12:16 PM GMT
good call Gstreet. I didn't think evens was much of a price to be honest - but they got it done nonetheless.

Back to 34.2 after last nights win. To be honest I taught the evens was a good price. What killed me was the everton bet. Was going to include that but was so dissappointed in how they performed against Liverpool that I could not have seen it happen. The price on offer was excellent and def a missed oppurtunity .

no bets to-night looked at santander atl.Madrid game but cant see either win prob a draw I think.

Sat13 jan.

1 point win newcastle to beat Swansea 2.96

Newcastle of the back of a 3-0 defeat face 5th, place Swansea.
Swansea have the 5 best home record but newcastle have the 4 best away form all season. To me Newcastle will win automatic promotion and are excellent value for this one.

1 point win Southampton to beat pompey. 2.92.

A local derby in the fa cup and by far the value bet on offer. Pompey are fragile both on and off the field and in a home atmosphere against thier biggest rivals they may well feel the pressure . Good value here .
Report Treble_Underscore February 14, 2010 11:31 AM GMT
unlucky in the pompey game - southampton battered them for a long stretch by all accounts
Report gstreetblue February 15, 2010 1:25 PM GMT
32.2 points so far after a dissappointing weekend. As treble pointed out we might have taken something from the southampton game. Newcastle were lucky to draw nevermind winning.

Was going to bet on the Charlton bristol match to-night but dont see value in it. Charlton have agood away record but 2.2 is not enough for me. Bristol are ok at home but have lost the last two. and altough a good price I can not back them. An excellent service for anyone following tipsters is football elite (football-elite.co.uk). An excellent profit all season. I dont post any of his selections by the way.

Back with a bet to-morrow

Bet for 16th, Feb

Man City to win at Stoke 2.5 1 point win

City have had a little dip since the earlier form following Manchinis arrival . They were less than impressive in the cup and struggled at home to Bolton. However I feel they are better than this and for me Stoke are over-achieving this season. I feel at 6/4 city represent good value and can start to drive at the top four positions.

1 point West Brom to win at Cardiff 2.66.

Good value this one West brom have the best away record in the division and at 2.66 to continue in this vain is excellent value. Cardiff are in good form recently however shipped four against chelsea and five away at newcastle. They are better on the road than at home this season. West brom are for me going to win promotion and any time they at these odds they worth a bet
Report gstreetblue February 16, 2010 8:55 PM GMT
30.2 and a loosing run continues. City could not beat Stoke with 10 men and should have lost if not for the ref. No report on the w brom match but another loosing bet.

bet for wed 17 1 point Arsenal to beat porto 3.1 on the exchanges.

Its my humble opinion ( not good lately ) that the english and Spanish leagues are far superior to the rest and here its Arsenal playing Porto. I think the value is excellent and expect Arsenal to win 1-0
Report Treble_Underscore February 18, 2010 10:10 AM GMT
I guess you bet that without seeing the team news, it was very significant in that game. With a full (well no RVP) team I don't think you would even have seen 2.80 let alone 3.10 (or 3.50+ on the night).

I didn't see the thread but I was with you on West Brom, and at that price would back them again. Still i guess from a yield POV you are doing pretty well.
