This was posted on another forum but removed.

Problem I found that once you logged out, it sometimes reverted to the original name. Someone posted how to overcome that but it was removed. Also, if you use someone elses name it wouldn't work (I think someone said a name from the past as well wouldn't work).

a) I put where you have to put your name as a row of XXXXX in bold. Replace the XXXXX with your chat name. IMPORTANT - don't put your USER NAME THAT YOU USE TO LOG ON. USE YOUR CHATROOM NAME. REPEAT: use your chat name, NOT YOUR USER NAME.
YYYYY in bold is where you put your new chat name.

b) you put up post but IMPORTANT: don't type ANYTHING ELSE. Just the line below. Note: Sometimes if you cut and paste, it wouldn't work so if it doesn't work at first, write it down (notice no spaces) and enter it in.

c) open a post to type it. Important that nothing is typed before so fnc is in top left.

Here is the code you put in a window on its own.

fnc(site.forum.betfair.com/jive3/chatname/request:change:XXXXX/request:name:YYYYY).

As well, NO SPACES AFTER LAST BRACKET. Hit POST as usual.

Problem we found is if the posting is on the same thread (i.e. this one) as the request, it didn't work. You need to post elsewhere and once you have posted, you'll come up with the new name and THEN your chatname in the top corner (i.e. where mine has a check mark and SHAPESHIFTER) will change after the first posting and will stay that way till you atleast log off. Sometimes it comes up as NO CHAT NAME or something. Not to worry but log off then back on to to try (your old name comes back).

Note, I put a period after bracket on the above line. It should actually look like this:

fnc(site.forum.betfair.com/jive3/chatname/request:change:XXXXX/request:name:YYYYY)

Hi

Thanks for the replies( particularly shapeshifter) . I only wanted to change my forum user name to simplify my different forum logons etc but it seems like more trouble than its worth so I suppose i will just keep this one.

thanks again.

the only way to change your forum name is to go to www.meatspin.com and use the "change forum name" tab..

The trouble with meatspin.com is that the other fun stuff on the site is so addictive!

I once was half asleep on a Monday morning and was reading the forum.

Blindly hit on the link to meatspin.

Pretty well started the week off on a bad note. Reminded me why I'm vegetarian.
