The multiples team also place bets to hedge their positions.

They admit to seeding Exchange Games but it is a grey area - if they develop a new field reliant on lquidity and that market guaranteed a profit - who would they first look to to provide that liquidity?

That is just a bot or bots constantly adjusting to the markets, following math instructions, market responses. Seen it alot also in correct scores.

Moonlight - Betfair don't seed virtual racing. This text is from the microsite.....

"How does Betfair generate revenue from the races?

Betfair generates revenue on this product from the commission paid by winners, like on other exchange markets. However, if over time the markets do not contain sufficient liquidity to provide an acceptable betting experience for our customers, then Betfair reserves the right to provide liquidity in order to ensure this. In this instance, a small amount of revenue may be earned from the liquidity we provide in these markets. But, our overall aim with this product is to expand the betting opportunities for customers, not become a market-maker. "

Billy only a matter of time before they seed the virtual stuff , they did the same with the exchange games markets and they were alot more liquid than the virtual stuff is. I'd imagine the betfair seeding will be alot more accurate than the forecast prices too :)

I'm sure their already doing it. The bot action is obvious.

I asked them today, and the asnwer was that they're not seeding the Virtual Racing markets. i'd agree that there's soem bot action, but you'd expect them to put more money up. I saw one race the other day with £1300 matched, so definitely getting some interest.

BOTfaiir do not seed markets.
BOTfair do not give credit.
BOtfair does not inform some players of value in markets where the price is known only after the off.
BOTfair does not offer "goodwill" settlements of 50% thereby never having to admit something is actually very wrong.
BOTfair does not join forces with a small band of Botmeisters who are far too clever for the rest of the pack.
That's why they called themselves Betfair
Report The Magician (100) February 1, 2010 8:46 PM GMT
Dangerous game if betfair bot thier own virtual racing.
Report MOUNT CLERIGO February 1, 2010 9:04 PM GMT
they pay people or have a very good relationship with people who frame markets for them IMO and in return these big players probably get low commission rates and good treatment
