How about "always assume you are wrong"...

I can relate to that but if you did always assume that you are wrong then you would never bet. Although for many that would be a really cunning plan.

People if you have not come across Jinxy before, he is my stalker and has been for the past 2 years. I think that it is on account of Jinxy demonstrating a lack of understanding of rools and last matched and he got the @rse. Naturally I pointed up, in an education way, the correct path however a stalker I have in consequence.

I think that he can be safely ignored but you never quite know as he does appear to be a bit fick most of the time.

For those of you who have not yet come across Alex the old wrinkled retainer.

He is know on other forums as Billy Liar, for obvious reasons. He is also known as a 'groomer' someone who asks for your email addresses and then wants to talk to you on Instant Messenger, a truly horrible person.

He is also known for his use of multiple user names where on some threads he has been caught talking to himself.

He is well known for clogging up the forum with useless and meaningless threads, seeking attention for his user names wherever possible.

He is also known for laying Giggs at 250 for SPOTY, yes he really did. He is a loser.

There are many other derogatory things that I and many others on these forums could tell you about him and his user names. Enough said for now though.

Most losing punters do in fact overestimate their abiilities. In fact one of their fundamental flaws is that they cannot hold their hands up and say 'I dont know enough to make it pay'. Admitting failure is a difficult thing to do and hence the reason most continue to kid themselves that they can get there unaided or as some do, that no one makes it pay. You could sit them down next to Geoirge Soros himself and many losing punters would look cursiously for a short while and tghen conclude that Geoirge doesn't know what he is on about and then shuffle off back to the racing post spotlight column

Does said 'punting' take part in Cambridge or Venice?

Punting was the wrong word, I accept as punting is not profitable. What is the best word without using Etionian/Oxbridge?

Wagering may suffice!

Although 'punting' does fit the bill particurlarly well when away from water courses.

Sadly, I overestimated you Alex when I clicked on this fred with the forlorn hope that it wouldn't involve you stating the bleeding obvious.

In a recent book, George Soros admitted that he changes his positions when his back hurts.
His unconscious mind is in control of his gambling.
Make of this what you will.
