Crispy,

What you want to do is get the basedata in an excel format. Once you've got this you'll be ok. You'll probably not find what you are looking for in a database written to someone elses requirements. Get one done for yourself mate. I did, it's easy. Just search online for someone who will do the job, explain your requirements and get a bespoke database for your exact requirements. And you'll be safe knowing that nobody will be sharing what you have! Will cost a few £££, but if what you have sussed out is good, it will pay for itself.

No mate, I got someone I know who understands how it all works to sort it for me. I'm not exactly tip top on IT issues.

If you go into google and do a search for people that write databases etc you'll find what you need I'm sure. So long as you've got the base data in a usable format you'll be ok
