Hi, im looking for some serious advice here. So any help would be appreciated.
For the past 3 years ive been gambling, like most i have plenty of winners and many losers but i do ok. Not second income but a great hobby.
The problem is i have no discipline, i bet on far to many events and we all know we cant win them all. Also i have no bank organisation, i deposit normally every friday and normally withdraw sunday night if im lucky. I have no staking system and some times i get carried away and bet silly amounts.
So starting from now i am going to try and take it more serious and try to manage a bank, im willing to start with £500 and i would be very gratefull for advise on how to stake correctly, how often to bet etc. all help would be great
If youve problems chasing only put in a certain amount each day, start each day with the same amount regardless of whats happened the day before. Hopefully one bad day wont kill your bank then.
Cut back on losing runs (feel them coming better), kick on with winning runs, but always look after yourself and dont over risk things on any given day, remember this game ever ends. Stick to same limit on account and set yourself a max bet, stick to it no matter what.
Dont get too hung up on %'s etc although lots of people like it, bet with what youre comfortable with rather than %'s. Comfortable with being what you can lose without losing your head. Make your own staking system and stick to it. "Feel" the bet, only you'll be able to decide how much you should put on it you know.
Put all sports P&L into excel, give up bad sports, focus on good sports, put more time and effort into them. See if youre good in running or pre-off keep a small record of that too. You'll soon be able to see where youre going wrong hopefully. The more you know the better like.
Main thing, enjoy yourself and dont let things get to you too much. And remember whatever you read here isnt worth much when youre on your own betting, its up to you and you only. Good luck!
Every single time you lose, you can learn something from it.

thanks for the reply, appreciate it. Im going to evaluate my bets throughout the past 3 months and take it from there, discipline is going to be a factor in this for me. My average stake is between £50- £100, which i am comfortable with, but then sometimes if im on run ill go and stake up to a thousand then deeply regret it if it loses. Its going to take time but im going to give it my best shot, try more research rather than just betting on any and everything.

Cardiff, if your average stake is £50-£100, then you're going to need a bigger starting bank than £500. If you bet level stakes then I personally would recommend a starting bank of at least 25 times your level stake. Another option is progressive staking. Some people love it, some loathe it. It's what works for you. If you start with your aforementioned £500, then bet 5% of that and so. Your self discipline will have to improve as well if you're to make a genuine go of it. Nobody likes losing, but it's a season long marathon, not a daily sprint.

Cardiff - what is your sport that you believe you have an "edge" in ??
Some people believe that the size of your bank is not relevant to whether you can win long term or not............................they IMO are eeeeeeejjjjjjjjjjjjiiiiiiiiitsssssssssssssssss...............
When you have say £200 and are betting............if you make say £10 ( 5% on start bank0 in 1 day...............as an individual you don't accept that £10 is a huge achievement!
The likelihood is you push and push having been successful on initial bet on say a football match, to try to make more profit on that match..............................
It is pure psychology......the bigger your bank the less you will push........DELTA and some others believe it is irrelevant..........................................
They are "wrong"...............................................and can't prove otherwise!

Thanks again for the advice guys, the sports i feel that i have an edge in are football and golf but these are are not the only sports i bet on, they are my most successfull. So im now going to start my bank with £1000 and start betting with level stakes of £50 i am going to concentrate mainly on these two sports, i am going to try and bet less and only when i spot value, hopefully i can develop the discipline you need to be successfull.
