Zipper posts plenty of useful knowledge, you have to read below the lines a bit, but he's not from the era of spoonfeeding like some on here.
imo. |

By:
You're certainly right about Lori, Tennis,
And as I mention in my original post I think Zipper knowledge is above average. So what bit should I rethink then ? |
|
By:
Do you realise You never actually impart any of that knowledge, Whilst you post quite alot, you never actually contibute anything constructive.
All I can ever remember from your oh so numerous posts is your constant belittling and or insulting other people. er.. maybe this bit |
|
By:
OK, I'm prepared to have my mind changed... to rethink it as you put it.
Please could you find and post a zipper post that might help with this re-evaluation. Thanks |

I think you/we (I'm in the middle somewhere I think) can learn from the old 'uns when it comes to attitude. Tend to find the younger posters are better at the maths/technical stuff and the older ones have been there and seen it all come and go.
For me zip often reflects this in his posts and reminds us that just because we had a bad day today there's still a world out there to stop and take in. (Not that I'm very good at following that advice). A little note of my own experiences. When I turned poker pro, many years before poker was the in-thing to do (further note, I'm not longer particularly good at poker vs the field, in case it sounds like a horn-tooting moment), I was 22 or so. I spent a good five years just listening to the old boys. Some talked utter drivel, some were brilliant, but what they all had in common was they'd already seen things that I hadn't and I found that I could take something out of most of the conversations I had with them if I let them talk and talk (and as you can probably imagine from my posting, I can talk with the best of 'em if I get rolling ) It doesn't mean that I always got great technical advice, but I got a feel for the entire scene much quicker than finding it out the hard way. I'm not into discussing the plusses and minuses of zip, or anyone else (well other than the obvious muppets who only post for attention), but anyone who isn't a raving imbecile adds to our experience. Bear in mind that different ages and different types of people will have different experiences to pass on. In the same way that I can't help people with Horse Racing betting, I'm sure zip can't help the 18 hour a day coffee addict grinder use a new API setup. You can only take what's there to be offered. He can pass on other nuggets for you to mull over and take or leave as you will though. Thanks for the kind words by the way :) |

Thankyou Tennis, you have changed my mind from 'Never' to Rarely and it is open to further change should you manage to find and post any other instances.
Lori, Aaaahhh yes the good old days of poker, when the games were good and the characters that played them were even better. Your post bought back alot of good memories. I too have regressed to the mean over the last couple of years :( but I had a fantastic 18 years prior to that and thank my lucky star for them :) Did you ever play in London ? Vic? Stakis? Russel Square ? maybe we even know each other |
|
By:
yes lori, totally agree. its horses for courses as they say... really no pun intended!!

Zip, if you were to drop the third person, everything would be a lot better imo. When I read your posts where you are giving an advice or an opinion, you sound like the sort of know-it-all guy who everybody wants to smack straight in the face. I still look forward to your posts because they are generally the very opposite of what everybody is saying, and if they happen to have some structured opinion in them, it's always worth a read. It just might be that you have a strong point that everybody is missing.
