You know when you have the usual result/OR/class/weight that you're trying to rate - but you also want to view it by class, then by distance, then by whatever...

Has anyone come up with a graphical approach that will (somehow) accommodate the differing view. I'm not talking about have differing views, or multiple views for one horse on a graph... I'm talking about combining all views for all horses in a race. Did think about some sort of scatter graph perhaps...

I can program, so if you can describe it - I'll (hopefully) code it!

Pivot tables are designed to display 3d in a 2d table. See the excel examples. Or look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pivot_Table

nah, I know pivots and they're not what I'm after - thanks anyway.

maybe it's more a case of 2D data in a 3D format.... remember SPSS? something along those lines
