Years ago, there was someone on financials that offered up a downloadable program that linked you to stock tickers in real time for free.
A few people downloaded it. I forgot about it then noticed people chatting saying how well it was working.
I went to download it but was on a mac and my mac wouldn't accept it but also went a bit on tilt so had to clean it up. When I mentioned it to my tech a few weeks ago, he went in and said that it was a windows application BUT found something buried in it.
He went home and downloaded a copy and called me that afternoon.
He found it actually delayed the "live feed" by about a second so it came across as live and obviously alot faster than the 15 second free versions available.
The next day he called me to say he also found a keystroke reader in it which is what caused my mac to react the way it did.
I went to the forum and found several people in financials with their computers crashed. A few weeks later, a few mentioned that someone had hacked their accounts.
The person who had posted the link (I can't remember his name but was from Amsterdam or Holland) had disappeared around the same time the live feed shut down.
Everything was passed onto betfair and never heard anything more since I was not affected.
From that, I wouldn't even download a photo that was posted on the forum.
